Sleepy
So far, birthday week is off to a good start. I was up until four (having excellent sexcapades). The fire alarm woke me up at 11, but that gives me more time to get some work done. Today I hope to get out to Timothy's and read some books that are due at the library tomorrow. I also want to get a good chunk of German studied.
This is the beginning of a tradition we call Birthday Week. What is Birthday Week? Well, originally it began as a way to diffuse the presure I felt to make the birthday day so special. I used to try to cram in all kinds of perfect stuff, but I just felt like it was work instead of fun. So I spread the birthday celebrations out over the week, thus creating less stress, and making a really fun week.
I don't do birthday parties. As a kid they were always a hellish nightmare. I hated going to other kids parties (luckily I was extraordinarily unpopular). I once held a party of my own and only one kid came - the one I invited just to be nice. So I' not such a party fan. But I do like cake.
Later this evening we're going to see Dial M for Murder in 3-D. I thought about going to the DSSG munch, but instead I'm going to the movie. I think we'll feel a little dragged out for socializing this evening. But as mr_pugh says, it's different with each other. On a side note, in researching to decide what to do I discovered that Ben Wicks (in whose pub the dssg meets), is dead. Now many of you may already have known this. But I was surprised. I used to watch his cartooning show everyday as a kid. I learned a lot about how to draw from Mr. Wicks and I liked him for that.
Today I'm also paying all my bills. I got a raise at work, which is swell. My coworker Mark had been badgering the boss and he gave us all raises. Thanks go out to Mark for his hard work on our behalf. If we were a union, we'd elect him president.
Several DVD sets come out soon and I want them. Comedy of Terrors is coming out in a double feature with The Raven. I love COT. It's one of my all-time favourite funny movies. I also want the Secret Agent Man mega-set. And the next two Poirots are coming out soon. I want I want I want. Memememe.
