The Buffy/Angelverse

I've got a script of Peter's to read. That's going to be fun. I watched the opening episode of the latest season of Six Feet Under. Phil wants to talk abotu it desperately and needs a listener who's seen the show. I watched the episodes of Buffy I hadn't seen, so I'm all caught up now.

According to rumour there might be a Willow show, or a Giles show as a spinoff when Buffy implodes. Or, some extra Buffy folks might come over to Angel. Willow is apparently going to be coming to Angel to try to put his soul back. That should be excellent. I'm a Willow fan.

Things I want to have happen in the final episodes of Buffy
Can Buffy cut Spike some slack and just like him more? First he's too evil for her, now he's too nice. What a picky bitch. I expect she's use the L word before the show ends because Cassie, the psychic blond chick with the weak heart said "someday she'll tell you," just before she died.

Can Dawn either become a normal person or die?

I hope they don't kill Buffy. I hope she gets to leave for a pseudo-normal life.

And is Principal Wood going to exact a blood revenge for the murder of his mother? As soon as he said he was a slayer's kid I knew there'd be trouble with Spike. I remember where he got his leather jacket. This is not, I think, going to end with a "shake hands and make up" scenario. Spike may have to save his life, or take his own. I hope they don't kill Spike. I only have so many lust-men and I can't spare them.

People I could do without in a spinoff: Dawn, Buffy, all the wanna-be slayers.

People I'll miss if they leave: Anya, Zander, Willow, oddly - Principal Wood, Spike. I could go wither way on Giles. I agree we need the bookish character, but it doesn't have to be him. Why can Dawn suddenly read old Sumerian or whatever? I know at one point the pages were in English, but why can she read it at all?

I'm glad that the Angel show finally addressed Cordelia's pregnancy. I'd been suspicious since her face got round and they started dressing her in long coats and hiding her behind furniture. Unfortunately, I don't think her being evil can be attributed simply to hormones. What's up with her? Was she infected by something when she was an upper-space being?

People I could do without from Angel: I'd like an end to the love triangle business between Fred, Gunn, and Wesley. But I don't really want to lose one of them. I'm glad Wolfram & Hart got toasted, but something needs to take their place thematically, and the idea of evil humans worked because of the potential for conflicted psyches. The Lindsey storyline was one of my favourites. But I'm biased because I found him hot.
