God damnit. If he comes back, this is the most pathetic retirement, yet. He retired for the offseason. This is the equivalent of me holding a press conference Friday evening and, in a tearful display, proclaiming that I don't have the desire to keep reconciling bank accounts and that the day-to-day grind of being a professional accountant has taken too much out of me that, mentally, I wouldn't be able to compete. I'll proclaim that I'll miss my adding machine, but I'll walk away with zero regrets. Sometime on Saturday evening, I'll start second-guessing my decision. By Monday morning, I'll report to work and announce my return from retirement.
Hey Brett-
Everyone retires from football from February to August. Stop making a damn spectacle of yourself and let your team move on. At this point, I'm pulling for you to return and return to your 2006 form. Nothing would make me happier than seeing you unretire like a big assclown and then go 4-12, again.
Yours in Jebus,
Matt
