I've got about a million things to accomplish today before I skip town for 8 of the next 10 days. It is unlikely that I'll accomplish half of those things.
Last night, my countertops for the kitchen came in and they are no loosely installed so as to at least give me an idea what they will look like. I think they look pretty damn good and, at the very least, are a marked improvement over the butcher block counters of yore. So, next on my list of goals is to tile the backsplash and finally cover up the old adhesive that I've been staring at for close to 6 months. As with any good project, the bar was completed first. I do promise pictures will follow once I actually install the countertops with glue, and such. That leaves the center island and then a slew of little cleanup projects, like re-spraying the ceiling, as the only thing standing inbetween me and completion.
Tonight, I've got to pack up and bathe dog one last time before I head out to see REO Speedwagon at the
Taste of MN. After that, Pete, Christa, Steph and I will head up to cabin country for some boating, napping, fishing, skiing, eating and drinking. We'll also more than likely stop off at the Indian reservation to pick up explosives that would otherwise require a permit. I'm hoping Friday night affords us the opportunity to head to West Point, one of the resorts on our lake, and partake in the glory that is 4th of July in northern WI. Last time Pete and I participated, the bartender was so drunk that he had to be helped to his feet by the patrons. There's something about a bar where you can buy canned beer out of a cooler....
Next week, Moondance Jam. Let the bad decisions begin!!
Have a great 4th!! Be safe and come back with most of your fingers...
