Franklin D. Roosevelt said back in the 1940s that the American people had "nothing to fear but fear itself." The population of the country was much smaller in those days, and it was probably possible to reverse a trend in which too many people might make decisions based on fear rather than on reality.

I am almost 78 years old; it's entirely possible that I won't live until election day 2012, but if I do, I'm going to write in Ron Paul's name for President. I hope that millions of other people will do the same. He is not likely to be the Republican nominee for president because his positions on so many issues go against the Republican grain.
