RP: Unwinding at the Abbey

Saturdays were supposed to be hers. That was the rule. Work like a dog all week, but for one single day she only had herself to deal with. Sundays brought overflow work, laundry and every other neglected chore, including her weekly call home to her mother. But not this week. Instead, early on Saturday she'd gotten a call from her brother. A perennial insomniac, it was clear he wasn't even sure what time it was and she let it slide. She spent the next four hours soothing ruffled feathers between him and their parents. By the time the conversations were over, she couldn't find her stride. The whole day was knocked off kilter and she'd never gotten a chance to decompress.
So tonight, she was going to be rebellious. She was going to go out on a weekday like she had when she was in college. Angel Abbey was the obvious choice and she looked forward to it all through a long afternoon meeting. Rushing back home, she changed into a soft v-necked sweater and a pair of gray slacks. Off went the power pointy toed heels, on came the broken-in black boots. The drive over was pleasant in it's own right and by the time she walked in the front door, she was already feeling good. Noting the group of people in corner, she kept a wide berth. She slid into a seat by the bar with a contented sigh.
