Elliot kept his run a little shorter than usual, though the cooler weather was invigorating while he was moving. He had set the coffee pot while he was out, so he could have a cup before leaving and he would stock up on all other forms of caffeine later. It would be a long day and he would pace himself accordingly, though he found himself looking forward to helping out Carrie in the bakery booth.

He took a quick shower when he got back to the apartment. Blessed be the water heater, he thought wryly, and went to throw on some clothes he wouldn't mind working in, though for him it would be more than work, as he always enjoyed hanging around Carrie. And Ezra would be there too, that would be nice.

On top of his thermos of coffee, he grabbed another and made up some hot chocolate, and a third with really hot water, grabbing a handful of tea bags (orange tea, something he liked sometimes, but oh he could hear Joan scolding him now) in case Carrie wanted tea, and then set to work with the little cooler he was bringing, with ice and Cokes and a few bottles of water crammed in. Elliot was nothing if not prepared.

He went ahead and left, leaving a reminder note on the dry erase board for Belle (teenage sleep, sacred, and they had talked it over last night anyway) before grabbing everything and heading out.

He pulled around the back, as it would be easier to load there. Grabbing his coffee and her hot chocolate (he would offer her the full selection but of course) he made his way to knock at the door.

Oh right, she'd meant to grab her binder and look over the plans for the booth as she was doing this current batch of cookie-bars. Wondering where her brain had gotten to (or if it was even turned on yet), she started towards the office, then stopped in confusion as she heard a knock that sounded like it was coming from the back. She didn't think they'd missed any deliveries. But she'd been focused on the work getting done, Carrie told herself as she turned and headed to it, so she'd find out in just a moment...

Blinking as her eyes shifted from the bright kitchen lights to the rapidly lightening dark of the pre-sunrise sky, she chuckled under her breath, leaning her head lightly against the edge of the door. "I think for some reason, my brain figured you were going to call when you got here, and ask to come through the front," she said with a grin, stepping back to let him come inside, and letting herself really look at him for a moment. His hair was still a little damp around the edges, and the now-familiar United Federation of Planets shirt put a faintly nostalgic gleam in her eyes. Quite a change, from then till now. And his offer to come help would mean more getting done, which would make things smoother and River happy. Grin fading to a soft, pleased smile, she looked back up at him and rose up on her toes, tilting her head back to offer him a kiss.

Elliot smiled at her. "I just thought that it might be easier to load through the back," he told her. "Save me driving around to the back anyway, or us having to wind through the tables to carry stuff out." He slipped inside as she opened the door further, running a hand back through his still barely-damp hair. He'd picked his shirt because he'd been thinking of her, remembering he'd worn it the first time they'd properly met.

"You handling the early morning okay?" he asked quietly, slipping his arms around her to draw her closer. He raised a hand to cup her cheek as he leaned down slightly to kiss her hello properly, lips lingering against hers in a long and soft kiss. "Mmm, hello there," he murmured, barely drawing back.
