Isabel all but pulled her through the entry-way, trying to hurry her inside. "When are the kids you asked to come going to get here, Tía?" She threw Nereida a grin over her shoulder, tugging at her hand as they wove through the weekend crowd of families. "Will lots of girls come? I like having lots of kids to play with." Making a face, she giggled. "Lots of girls, though."
Chuckling, Nereida playfully raised her eyebrow, swerving to avoid a stroller while still keeping Isabel's hand in hers. "Only girls? What about that little boy you said plays 'castle' with you at recess?" She pretended to think, her eyes sparkling. "Let's see, what did you say his name was? Miguel? The one who usually plays the knight, right?" She blinked as the six-year-old's smile faded. "Is that not the right boy, then, bonita?"
"No, that's right." Isabel sighed heavily, scuffing her feet as they headed towards the Children's Museum, the bright, colorful entrance visible even from here. "Some of the other boys teased him, 'cause I'm a girl, so he wouldn't play with me any more. He has to move away." Looking up, she shrugged, half-indifferently. "His Papá got a new job."
"Oh, I see." She pursed her lips thoughtfully, digesting that before smiling broadly as they came closer to the entrance. "There, Isabel, look! We're here." Laughing at the answering squeal, all boy-problems forgotten, she swung her hand forward, helping Isabel propel herself forward and run through the archway. "Go on, run ahead. Where do you want to start?"
