It was probably weird to be helping his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend look at engagement rings, but Will decided that he didn't mind the unconventional relationship they all had. He loved Lilah, even if they hadn't worked out as an us, and he liked Mike. The guy loved Lilah in ways Will hadn't, treated the kids well, didn't mind Will being a large part of the family, and they got along, too. If Demi, Bruce and Ashton could do it, he didn't see any reason why they couldn't. Besides, he was way hotter than Bruce Willis ( ... )

Caleb lifted his free hand automatically to the man's shoulder. He'd actually seen him coming, but there hadn't been much room to move out of his way. No harm done, though. He wasn't feeling that pissy today. "'s all right," he said, glancing up at the man's face, then freezing as his brain registered vague recognition. He had no idea what it might be from, though.

After a beat, he dropped his hand and shook his head slightly, realising he'd lingered too long. "Sorry, distracted. Ah, seems like everyone's out today. We're probably not the first collison."

Will took a moment to check out the guy he'd run into. It seemed that there were a lot of attractive people in Texas. In this area, at least. Maybe it was something in the water. He'd better not tell Vinnie about it, or he'll be asked to bottle the water or deal with a houseguest for an indefinite amount of time, either of which would drive him crazy, much as he loved the man.

"Probably not," he agreed. "I was lost in my head, so I can't really say anything about being distracted." He smiled. "I guess it's lucky that I ran into you and not someone who wouldn't be so understanding."

Caleb's lips quirked, not missing how the man's eyes lingered on him. At least he wouldn't be likely to take offense after all. He did a brief once-over himself, casual and appraising, and liked what he saw.

"Well now, you caught me after I'd cooled off," he admitted. "My eye doctor's telling me I need glasses." His eyes narrowed. "Wanted to tell him where to stick his glasses." It was nothing for him to talk about it; he could get going on just about anything with just about anyone. He smiled easily at the man.

"Guess I am lucky, then." Will arched a brow when he noticed the guy returning his interest. If this was a few years ago, he'd have already been suggesting they check out the view from his bedroom. He was on his way to forty now, though, and he at least liked to know the people he chose to let into his bed. The guy might not be into that, anyway. Not that Will wasn't pretty confident that he could lead things there if he wanted, but a little flirting could be fun, too.

"Oh, I don't know. I think a guy in glasses is pretty hot," he drawled, shifting his weight slightly so that he was standing up straighter and leaning into the guy. "Something about specs that scream out sexy and studious. By the way, I'm Will. Will Butler." It'd be nice to be able to call the guy something other than 'the guy'.

"You are. My rage is a fearsome thing to behold." He caught the man's eye and raised a brow. Actually, he hadn't been spitting mad in such a long time he couldn't be sure if it was or not. Work annoyances came so regularly he sublimated them or he'd go crazy.

"Do you now?" Definitely flirting, Caleb decided, shifting to let a couple of women pass and then focusing in again. The feeling wasn't foreign, but he spent enough of his time buried in work or flirting with customers (which he considered the business kind of flirting) that he could admit he was enjoying the attention. "Don't know. No one's ever called me studious, unless I find something I'm really into. Been known to happen." He offered his hand, maintained eye contact. "I'm Caleb Young. It's a pleasure already. What is it you do, Will Butler?"

Will shook Caleb's hand, deliberately holding on a beat too long before letting go. "I'm an entrepreneur, I suppose. I keep my hands in several different areas. At the moment, I'm a full-time father, and, in my spare time, I'm a financial advisor, I own a local business, and I'm a partner in a company back in Los Angeles. I suppose there's always a little something to keep my attention regardless of my mood."

"What do you do, Caleb Young?"

"You do keep plenty of balls in the air, don't you?" Caleb whistled. He thought he was busy. "Most of the time with dads, seems to be the other way around. Full time moneymaker, homework in the evenings. Not that I'm speaking from any kinda experience on that, but you seem like a rare one."

"Guess I'm trying on the entrepreneur thing myself," he decided, liking the sound of it. "I own a local theatre and nightclub, Muse. You oughta check it out sometime, if you're into movies or shows or music." He chuckled. "When it comes to entertainment, I've got my hands in several areas myself. And I can never resist promoting, sorry."

"What can I say? Guess I like balls." Will snorted and rolled his eyes at himself before grinning. "My kids are my life. Don't get me wrong. I'm really fortunate because I've got enough money to be able to put them as my priority. Not every dad is able to do that, even if they'd want to." He wasn't bragging or anything. He just knew he had enough money that his kids were taken care of for their entire lives, so long as they listened to his advice about saving and being smart with money. Not that they'd know that, since he and Lilah had agreed they'd have to get jobs, but college would be taken care of ( ... )

"You handle them better than most." He was fun, Caleb decided. Lot of fun. "That's the truth. Money's freedom. I never used to worry about it before; I kinda lived a hassle-free lifestyle before about a year ago. Now, I've put down roots and I've got a ball and chain the size of Texas, feels like I'll never get out from under it sometimes. Got no freedom to stay home or to go back on the road, but weirdly...I love it." He shrugged, because it really did bewilder him sometimes. "Go figure."

Caleb grinned. "That's what I like to hear." Bradley was a potential new one, and now Will. He loved meeting customers, even the ones that didn't have cocky blue eyes that lingered. He leaned in slightly, briefly, as Will brushed against him. "Damn good assortment. You come see me, and I'll hook you up. Wouldn't even have pull any cards you didn't want to."

He looked at Will curiously. "Entertainment, you say? Maybe that's where I know you. Had my hands in a lot of pots over the years." He paused. "That is--you just looked familiar, is all."

"I'll have to do that soon. Can't resist getting a hook up from an attractive man." Will let his gaze linger on Caleb's lips before he moved his gaze down his body. "Even better if there's no cards or games involved," he added, looking back into Caleb's eyes. Just because he didn't have sex with everyone who turned him on didn't mean he wasn't above seeing where attraction went sometimes.

When Caleb said he looked familiar, Will's smile turned wicked. "Oh, do I?" There was a chance that they could have fucked before, like him and Ciaran, but he thought Caleb was several years younger, so probably not. That left the movies. "Tell me, Mr. Young, did you watch a lot of dirty movies as a...teenager, I'd guess. You're, what, late twenties? Early thirties?" He winked. "You might have seen me back in my acting days. Well, acting if a loose definition that involved more nudity and less actual skill was used."

Caleb's grin widened as Will's gaze set off a familiar thrum in his blood. Had to give it to a guy who'd eye you up in the middle of a crowded street; he'd give even Caleb a run for his money. He was tempted to suggest they take it off the street, even if it wasn't how he'd imagined his afternoon would go. "No games necessary," he said, "I shoot straight when it's required. So to speak ( ... )

"I don't remember much acting, either." Will laughed and ran his fingers through his hair. "That was my first starring role, actually. Hence the total lack of even trying to act. Of course, I mostly remember the script being pretty weak, so maybe it wasn't my lack of skill that made it suffer, on a cinematic level. There's only so much you can do with 'I've been a bad boy, Mr. Sanders, and I need a spanking', you know?"

He arched a brow as he leaned in closer. "Should I ask what you remember or is it better to leave a little mystery? Damn. That was nearly twenty years ago, though, so I don't know if I want to know, after all. With age comes experience, right?" He winked before smiling slowly. "Now what's this demand about sideways fucking, Mr. Young?"

"No one watches for the writing," Caleb assured him. "You delivered the line as well as my lust-addled fourteen-year-old brain required at the time, trust me. Hell, might even do the trick for my thirty-two year old one." Talk about a blast from the past. He'd damn near worn that tape out, had kept it under his bed and well hidden from his father. He didn't know how Will'd take it if he said that movie had been one of the things that'd helped him learn a few things about himself at a pretty crucial age, so he kept it to himself. But it had. "Start of a beautiful career, I take it."

He grinned. "Oh, I remember a fair bit. Seems like I know a lot more about you than you do me. Feels kinda nice." He teased with it, enjoying himself now that the initial shock had passed. "That's the way it works. I'm sure you've aged real well." He lifted a brow. "Just an expression, Butler. There's other angles I favor more."

"Fourteen? You must have been an early bloomer." Will moved so that he wasn't taking up so much room on the sidewalk. If the change in position also meant he was closer to Caleb, well, that was just a bonus. "If you need tricks for your mind now, you just let me know. I have one or two up my sleeves." He licked his lips. "I guess I didn't make a lasting impression if you didn't follow my career. Am I not your type, Caleb?" He pursed his lips into a pout before winking.

"But I'm glad you remember some of it. It was my starring debut, after all, so it's got a place in my heart. The writing was awful, but you're right. People don't watch for scripts. Of course, my production company has a branch that is more script focused, but that's mostly because I got so tired of reading such horrible things during my filming days." Will smiled and changed the subject before he wasted valuable flirting time with shop talk. "It's not my favorite angle, either. Not even in the top five, now that I think about it."

"What can I say? I was highly motivated." Caleb was never shy, but hell if he didn't kinda want to blush right now. He could remember not being sure whether he'd wanted to be Will, or be the one fucking Will. And now he was standing here talking to the guy. He laughed and ducked his head as he grinned, leaning against the wall of the shop they were standing in front of, arms crossed and body angled towards Will. "Well now, porn's porn at that age. Wasn't too picky about actors, you know. Which is not to say you weren't memorable." As Caleb remembered, Will'd had a lithe, flexible body that'd looked good spread out over a desk. He was broader now, tight-packed and filled out and no less appealing. Probably more so. "As for types, well, I have a lot of those ( ... )
