Neve knew it wasn't the ideal place to have a conversation like this. She had asked Jake if he could meet her at the park where Mack's soccer team practiced, at least it would be better than at a coffee shop or cafe. Neve had been so frustrated and upset since Monday, she couldn't get her head around the fact that her in-laws were seriously seeking custody of the girls. At first she had thought it was a joke, and had even asked her sister-in-law Leah just that, and when Leah confirmed that it wasn't a joke, Neve saw red.
She hadn't said a word of it to the girls, and she was hoping that they hadn't overheard the conversation on Monday. Ezra and Kyle were oblivious to what was going on as well, and for the time being she wanted to keep it that way. Which made her more grateful for the fact she had someone like Jake she could call up and vent to; because honestly that's what she needed right now.
While Neve waited for Jake to show up, she passed the time by watching Mack's soccer practice. Neve knew that sometimes she missed out on doing things like this, watching her daughter's soccer practice, but when she could be at a recital, game or spelling bee for that matter, she was.
