Kyle had forced himself through Friday's shift, on edge and expecting Ezra to burst through the door at any minute. He'd slept poorly both Thursday and Friday night, set up in one of Derrick's guest rooms. And wasn't Derrick's place a shock, he hadn't expected a mansion when Derrick was pretty down to Earth.
But, because of his inability to sleep, he'd been up early and Fisher had asked if he would like to tag along to the bakery before his shift. Figuring it had been a better option than having to buy a bus ticket, as Derrick came on later than him, he agreed. He could walk from the bakery to Angel Abbey without a problem.
He shadowed Fisher through the employee entrance, sticking close until Fisher shooed him to a table with a brownie and Derrick's borrowed laptop for him to browse the internet with.
