RP: Working at the ranch

Rori rode back to the barn, feeling the riding for once. Training an animal always took a little more energy than working out a horse with the training already there. This gelding in particular had a tendency to buck at the oddest moments, even if she knew he had better manners than that. She tapped him with the riding crop when he tried to shy away from a bush. “Ass,” she scolded him, finally dismounting in front of the barn and leading him inside.
“You know better than this,” she told him, looking the horse firmly in the eye. “And you’re not earning brownie points, boyo. You will learn some manners if we both end up in that ring for eight hours at some point, got it? Be good.” The horse simple tossed his head, and Rori rolled her eyes as she attached him to the rail.
She quickly pulled off his tack and put on his halter, ready to brush him down quickly. She’d have one of the hands come back around and do a more thorough job later. She needed to go make a couple of phone calls and do some paperwork real quick before she took the next horse out.
