Ariel had managed to get the little dog cleaned up, even if it had been a very dirtying process to Ariel herself. A lot of hair had been clipped-the dog’s, luckily-and she’d ruined one of her hair brushes, but now Tiana looked presentable and not like a stray out on the street. However, the dog was very definitely pregnant, and this made Ariel nervous especially considering the fact that the dog had been living on the street for who knows how long.
She didn’t want to bring it to a vet right off and have to pay that kind of bill, though. In her experience with taking in animals back home, people who worked at the shelters often had at least an idea of what she needed to know, or they would tell her to bring the animal to a vet. So no harm in trying there first, she thought. Save money.
She was mildly nervous about it, but Tiana at least seemed well behaved and sat nicely on the passenger seat, front legs spread to brace herself. She left the windows well cracked, even though it wasn’t hot out yet, only going to be gone a couple of minutes. If she was going to be more, she’d go fetch her even if it wasn’t too hot for this yet.
She fingered her keys as she entered, knowing she’d probably be told she was stupid for coming in like this but doing it anyway.
