I will attempt not to make this entry long and boring but FULL OF EXCITEMENT!!!
However there is a slight problem with that as I havn't done anything exciting.
Short list of what I have done in the last 26 days:
-some exams
-had a birthday
-been to see Nottingham and Leeds universities
-been hot or rained on
In short, the exams were a bit rubbish. I can now confirm that I have done badly in music and I don't know about the others.
It was my birthday on the 17th and I didn't really do anything. Coombes won with the best card as it had Puss In Boots from Shrek 2 on it. (omg I love the bit with the hairball! It cracks me up everytime i think about it. When I was on holiday last year it was the film on the plane over to Hawaii and as it was a night flight everyone was asleep or dozing except me because I was watching Shrek 2 and as I'd already seen it loads of times I kept laughing before the funny bits even happened coz I knew what they were going to say and then I laughed even louder when they actually said it and everyone must have thought I was a bit odd and rather annoying as I kept laughing on this silent plane full of sleeping people. lol. I love Shrek.)
I went to stay with my auntie and uncle in Nottingham this weekend so I could go to the Nottingham and Leeds university open days. It was good and quite helpful although I liked both a lot which is rather unhelpful. The bad thing about them has been that my dad has started to get stressed about how much I'm going to cost him. (He has already made a spreadsheet about it. How weird is that? I worry about my dad.) My cousins are really into making scoobys at the moment so they made me one and my cousin Martha who's 11 was telling me how when she's older she's going to be a police officer. (I think this might be because she watches the Bill a lot but I still think she'd be a good policewoman because she asks lots of questions and is very observant - one time when we went to their house and she hadn't seen us for months she noticed that my dad's car had new WHEELS? I didn't even notice when he brought his car home told me to look at the wheels.)
It has been very hot lately and I am glad that it has cooled down because I don't like it when it's too hot so I will stop complaining about it now. Conversely it rained on us ALL DAY in Nottingham which was also annoying and if it starts doing that down here then I will start complaining agin.
Yay I'm going to see Finch on Saturday!!!!!! I'm well excited!! IT'S GONNA BE SO GOOD!!!!
And, lol, today I bought tickets to go and see the Smiths musical which is showing in a theatre in Hammersmith today. A musical of Smiths songs! How funny. That's gonna be so good as well!!
*sigh* I don't want to go to school tomorrow. WELL can't be bothered.
#Upon the sand, upon the bay
"There is a quick and easy way" you say
Before you illustrate
I'd rather state:
"I'm not the man you think I am
I'm not the man you think I am"
And sorrow's native son
He will not smile for anyone.
And pretty girls make graves
Oh... (me - there are lots of "Oh's" here and I can't be bothered to type them all)
End of the pier, end of the bay
You tug my arm, and say: "Give in to lust,
Give up to lust, oh heaven knows we'll
Soon be dust... "
Oh, I'm not the man you think I am
I'm not the man you think I am.
And sorrow's native son
He will not rise for anyone
And Pretty Girls Make Graves
(Oh really?)
Oh...
I could have been wild and I could have
Been free
But Nature played this trick on me
She wants it now
And she will not wait
But she's too rough
And I'm too delicate
Then, on the sand
Another man, he takes her hand
A smile lights up her stupid face
(and well, it would)
I lost my faith in Womanhood
I lost my faith in Womanhood
I lost my faith...
Oh...
Hand in glove...
The sun shines out of our behinds...
Oh...#
Pretty Girls Make Graves - The Smiths
This song has one of the best outros EVER and there's this Morrissey (solo) song that has an intro which is almost EXACTLY the same and so does not impress me AT ALL. Morrissey so needs Johnny Marr back. It would be amazing. Anyway, I love this song and I am always torn between feeling sorry for Morrissey or finding the lyrics rather funny. ahh. The #Oh really?# bit is sung/said by an old girlfriend of Morrisseys if anyone is interested. That line is almost definately the funniest part of the song.
Also, I well wanted to call my new band Pretty Girls Make Graves but I can't because some girl rock band from Seattle have already taken it. How rude.
