My Chinese zodiac is the lamb (or sheep, goat, ram, whichever you prefer) and, as such, I have always considered it a personal affront to eat any of my kind. After years of getting me to try dishes with lamb meat, my family has all but given up and even indulge me in my beliefs by limiting their own intake of lamb. And when they do partake, they usually admit it in a guilty phone call later on. (Either that or they call and tell me how delicious the lamb meat was; it depends on their mood of the day.)

Anyway, I was at Trader Joe's this morning and, per usual, they were offering food for people to try. I looked in the cup and saw what I thought was marinated roast pork loin. It looked good so I downed one and started to chew. But it was a lot chewier than I would've expected pork to be, so I look over and see a sign. You can see where this is headed . . . Yes, I had just eaten lamb meat.

*iz traumatized*

I can't believe that after 29 years, Trader Joe's has been my downfall.

My family has just had a good laugh at my expense.
