The previous weekend, when I went home and met my parents, I intended to stop by
Minamoto Kitchoan and get them some goodies. But I ended up working late the night before and totally forgot. I think my mom was a little disappointed.
This weekend, my sister and BIL are visiting so of course my parents are traveling up to join us. I was determined to bring home mochi and other
wagashi this time. Especially knowing how much my sister loves this sort of stuff and she didn't get to experience the joys of MK when she visited.
Except, I leave work (relatively) early today and make it to the store an hour before it closes and what do I find? There's been an emergency! They closed early! They'll reopen tomorrow at ten. I swear, it's a freakin' conspiracy. My mom told me to give up but I can't. I was looking forward to seeing my parents' and sister's glee when I brought out the mochi. (What can I say? I'm the youngest and I'm a total suck-up.) So, with determination on my side this shall be my schedule tomorrow:
- 9:00 - Arrive at work no later than 9. This will probably be the hardest part as I don't usually get there until 9:30 at the earliest. Because I'm a bad girl like that (see previous entry).
- 11:00 - Leave work and catch subway.
- 11:30 - Hopefully arrive at bakery.
- 11:45 - Finish shopping and walk briskly home.
- 12:00 - Arrive at apartment, fetch luggage, fetch cab.
- 12:20 - Arrive at train station. Get ticket, buy lunch, wait.
- 12:50 - Start boarding.
So help the bakery if they're not open tomorrow! And wish me luck.
