Now that a month has passed, it's time to see how I'm doing on those
New Year's Resolutions. It's a 50% failure/success rate.
I'm sad to report that I haven't been to Curves once since . . . well, we won't talk about that! But it's definitely money down the drain so I've resolved to fix the situation next month. The biggest hurdle is that I'm now working on average 9 hours a day, so I often don't leave work until 6:30 - 7. The last thing I want to do at that point is go work out. I'm hungry, I'm tired, I want to go home! So I do. The solution is clearly to get my butt into work earlier. This means I'm going to have to be better about going to bed earlier and waking up on time instead of hitting that sleep button. This will be no easy feat for a night owl like me, so keep your fingers crossed!
I'm happy to report that I have started to write again. I didn't want to admit it any earlier for fear of jinxing the muse. In the past year, it seems as if every time I thought I'd broken free of the writer's block, the bricks went up again. But with the encouragement (and pitchfork) of
happychemist, she's gotten me through a good chunk of the next chapter of Magpie Bridge. My goal is to have something posted by Chinese New Year's. Since it's now February 1st - eep - I'm on the countdown. Which is why I'm confessing to writing again now, so that you can all put me to task and remind me that I promised last year to post by Chinese New Year's. (I just never specified a year! Ha! :P) But seriously, keep your fingers crossed for this too. I've now hit the hardest section of the chapter and I don't want another case of writer's block!
