I had an official weigh-in at Curves tonight. You're supposed to do them every month, but I always put it off because I fear finding out I've actually gained weight. I'm very much one of those - if I don't know about bad news I can deny it until kingdom come - people, so I just avoid the truth whenever possible. :P I do monitor myself regularly at home, but my weight fluctuates within a 5 lb. range on a daily basis (or even a every other day basis). So, I really do rely on the official weigh-ins at Curves to mark milestones. I just spread them out over several months. ;P
4/04 - 4/05: Inches Lost: 15.5
Weight Lost: 12.5
4/04 - 5/06: Inches Lost: 15.75
Weight Lost: 22.5
I seem to be averaging about 10 pounds a year. I know I could probably lose more than that, but at least it's a steady decline that stays off.
My long term goal is to lose at least 15 more pounds. At this rate, that seems very doable. My short term goal (for the wedding) is to lose at least 5 pounds. That seems very doable as well. I'm going to Ireland next week, so it'll be hard to control what I eat and exercise, but I'll still have 3 months after I get back until the wedding. I'm going to really concentrate on calorie counting when I return. That seemed to really work during the 6-week challenge I did last fall - I lost 4.5 pounds! - so with 12 weeks . . . I just need to be resist temptation! (And be diligent about going to work out as I was during the challenge.)
I'll have to hand out whips to everybody. :P
