Another message from Him...Hmmmm

*************************************************ORIGINALLY POSTED DECEMBER 9th, 2006, 10:48 PM**************************************************************

So today was a good day.  The latest in a string of many, you might say.  I worked from 8:30 this morning until 4:30, and then I met up with Zhanae to go to her concert at the Temple.  Her group did a very good job, but it was so cold!  I felt like a wiener, since I always go on and on about how I'm from MA and I don't get cold out here, but believe me, I was freezing my no-no berries off! (HAHA Thanks Jess!)

On the way to the show I was telling her about this strange dream I had last night. It was strange because...

1) It was a nightmare (and a rippin' one too)

2) I don't dream very much.  And when I do, it's usually about being on Jeopardy and kickin' tail!  LOL

In the dream, she and I were taking a picture, and the photographer was using one of the old-timey cameras with the powder and everything.  Eric was in his wheelchair behind the camera waiting.  The guy took the shot, the cloud of black smoke billowed, and I turned around.  When I turned back, everyone - the photog, Eric, Zhanae, etc. - was passed out on the ground from smoke inhalation.  So I ran over and grabbed Zhanae first and ran out of the building.  I put her down outside, and just as I was running back to get Eric, the whole building burst into violent flames.

And then I woke up.

Z thinks it means that everything has gone so well in my life lately that it's my subconscious' way of saying how worried I am to lose it all, and to lose the people I love and care about.  That may not be far off.  I also think that the Lord is trying to tell me something else.

My belief in this was reinforced when we were walking through the Visitor's Center after the show with Zhanae's roommate Kat.  We rounded the corner when what do I see painted on the wall but Matthew 11:28 again...

"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest."

I swear it stopped me dead in my tracks.  When I pointed it out to Z, she gasped.  We both knew it was there for a reason.  Then we had to explain to Kat what the significance was and why it meant so much to me.

(Speaking of which, Kat is one hilarious lady.  I thought I was crazy, but I've got nothin' on her!)

So, Z and I would be watching Nacho Libre right now...if she didn't feel horribly sick.  But all is not lost, boys and girls.  I'm cooking for her (at her request, no less) on Wednesday.  We are having my special chicken and sausage jambalaya.  Needless to say, I am very excited...

That about does it for now.  So until next time, remember what a wise man once said:

"It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock & roll!"
