Quite an eventful few days for me, so I'll share with the class
Friday was my final gig for the Scuba Kats. It went pretty well, everybody sounded good, especially Alicia, who may have the chance to be something very special in our business if she so chooses. I don't know if I was really sad to see it go, because I'm starting a new band currently! So far, I have myself (as the lead singer), Josh Tucker as the sound guy and a fantastic lead gutiarist by the name of Zachary Williams. We're a rockabilly and blues band by the name of...
Actually, the business portion of my brain just kicked in and said that maybe I should copyright the name before I go plastering it all over the Internet, so I'll hold off on sharing that for the time being. But expect much more news in the coming weeks and months. The goal is to have our first show between February and March, and practice furiously until that time arrives.
Yesterday, I had a productive day at work. My dad and Roxanne came to see me there, bought some shoes, and I found out that I had today off. After I got out at 8, I played some XBox360 at EBGames and went to see Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny, which had my "twin" Jack Black in it. LOL Pretty funny stuff from KG and JB...After I got out, I called Zhanae and told her that I would be attending church with her again today.
And so I went with Z again today and had a good time. We even got a free dinner to go with all that spiritual enlightenment!
Zhanae: "Wow, who knew potatoes could be so filling?"
Me: "Mmm, this burrito's good, but it's far too filling!" ::Throws it out the window::
HAHAHA
Zhanae: "You hanging in there?"
Me: "Yeah, but if they make us sing 'The Iron Rod' again this week, I'm gonna lose it."
ROTFL
I just wish I had gone with afterward to the Christmas gathering, but I probably wouldn't have made it home until very late. Oh well...
I'm enjoying this time in my life as it unfolds. It's good to know a little of what God has in store for me, to finally know again that He is there and , more importantly, that He is listening. But at the same time, I don't want to know everything right now. It would ruin the surprise!
And on top of that, how ridiculously lucky am I to have a friend like Z anyway? She's been right there to help me through every step of this journey so far; for that I am so grateful, and I don't know if I could ever thank her enough. Most folks get a friend like that only once or twice a lifetime...
Well that's it for me. Tip your servers on the way out, and try the veal next time...I'll be back in a couple days with my annual Best Of Movies and Music List (Which will put Melissa's to shame, btw HAHA) and some other fun stuff. Until then, be good to each other and for each other...
