extreme update
yikes I just realized I have not posted since, like, April. So much has happened in my life since then!
I just found out on Monday that I was accepted at the U of M dental school! I had an interview on the 19th, so I heard back pretty quick. I still am waiting on Western in soutern california, botson u, tufts university, and new york university. those are all taking forever.. but in the meantime I at least have one school that likes me enough to want me to go to school there! I have to make a tough choice though.. I want to go to an out of state school to experience something new, but the U is giving me only 45 days to say yes or no, and if yes I must make a $1000 non-refundable deposit! So if I say yes I am stuck, unless I want to blow a grand... I should be super stoked though, right?? For some reason I feel I am not as excited as everyone else that I tell, but it is a huge accomplishment to get accepted.
Also, a few weeks ago I lost my beloved Lil kickers soccer coaching job :( The business we worked for foreclosed and got evicted out of no where, so we just lost our jobs without warning. But I guess when a door shuts a window opens or something.. right? I decided to apply to this MadScience thing last week, and I got a callback 2 days ago, had an interview tonight and got the job! I am so stoked about it, it sounds like a blast! It's an after school program where we try to get kids grade 1-6 super excited about science by building rockets with them, doing chemical reactions (mixing vinegar & baking soda to create a volcano..) and show them dinosaur fossils. It is so perfect for me! I love science and I love working with kids! So bam! I am a Mad Scientist!!!
Also, I am living in this absolutely adorable 3 story house with 4 of my very great friends (one being my boyfriend!) andddd did I mention we have the entire house to ourselves? It's a freaking mansion compared to the box I lived in last year. We have 2 living rooms as opposed to zero.
And today was the last day of Hamline class for me! the semester is over already! I am half way done with my senior year of college! What the heck!!! didn't we just graduate from high school?
I am celebrating by doing absolutely nothing over j-term. I desperately need a break after this summer when I had noooooo free time at all. I had class + a 10 hour per week volunteer internship at Children's Dental Services + a 12 hour per week job (coaching soccer) + coaching woodbury girls' lacrosse every week night pretty much. Plus I played in a lacrosse league on weekends. Then I took the Dental Admissions test. And all the while I was applying to dental schools. Ahhhh it was a crazy summer! Rewarding, but draining. I need a mental break so bad.
I took probably my favorite class so far at Hamline this semester.. Philosophy of Science. It was amazing. I love school, haha.
I guess I don't feel like writing any more. I just wanted to get in touch again, you know.
