Braeburn | MLP: FiM | M/F only please~ taintfair December 4 2011, 09:17:47 UTC
A gamer Braeburn most certainly was not. Furthermore he was a peaceful pony by nature, back when he had been a pony. It was basically through only sheer gumption and devotion of time that he'd reached a high level, but his gear was lacking, his play style unpolished, and his build a train wreck with spare talent points he'd forgotten to even assign yet.

His character, a grappler-type, was fairly simple as well, partially out of laziness and partially out of not wanting to show off too much. Braeburn was normally far more interested in helping others; it almost seems like he wandered into here on accident...

((OOC: It's pretty much impossible to lose to him unless you intentionally throw the fight or are level 1 or something, but I'm open for playing both sides! Also just let me know if you want to play out him getting curbstomped or just skip straight to after. :D))

Onyxia smirked as she strode onto the field, sizing up her opponent. Big, muscular, no bladed weapons or massive armored gear... and if the quality of the gear was anything to go by, probably not too bright either.

Perfect. It'd be a quick, easy win for her. Soon she'd have the tournament prize. The amulet that was part of the winnings was the last thing she needed to perform the ritual she needed to bind high level dragons to her will. Soon...

Her own gear was some of the very best for her class and level, even if it was an elegant, scantily cut dress and exotic jewelry. But she was a Sorceress who'd specialized in the Enchantress talents - a master of spells, rituals, and bending others to her will. She didn't need heavy, bulky armor or massive muscles.

[ooc: Hi there. She's pretty high level and a powerful spellcaster. She's going to go with offensive spellcasting first to soften him up and wear down his resistance and stamina levels, and then use Charm and Beguile to enthrall him into obeying her will ( ... )

"Oh, well hey there!" the fighter chirped enthusiastically and waved. "Ah reckon we're 'sposed ta fight, then?"

He stepped forward and assumed a fighting pose, not really taking their distance or anything else into much consideration - he really only had experience with mobs so far.

Was he..? He was. He waited for her to make the first move, like a gentleman. A dead gentleman.

Yes indeed... not very smart. She smiled rather charmingly at him and quirked a brow slightly.

"Yes. I 'reckon' we are. I do hope you don't feel too badly about fighting a lady." her tone was equal parts teasing and sincere. It was always fun to mess with humans' minds a bit first. Even as she spoke, she considered what her opening move would be.

"Don't worry, ah ain't gonna take it easy on ya! Ah know a fair number a' right strong ladies, miss. Ain't nothin' a man can do that a gal cain't!" Well, there were a few things. He's pretty sure he'd done all of them at least once since showing up in this hotel, but that wasn't the point.

He slowly edged a bit closer. Even if he was giving her the first move, he could still be prepared.

"My, such a gentleman. Since you're going all out, I suppose I should as well." Her smile curved into a smirk before she gestured with one hand. A blue glow curled between her fingers before she made a tossing gesture, and unleashed a freezing blast at him. That ought to slow him down, even if he managed to have high enough resist to avoid having his feet briefly frozen to the ground.

Thankfully for Braeburn, the level and sheer durability of his class choice were enough to avoid the worst of that, but his movement was still debuffed. He was trying to approach now, but it would be negligible to outpace him. At least for the next few seconds before it wore off.

"Wh-Whoah! Ain't seen that one before!" He was a bit excited, yeah. He supposed since no one would really get hurt here that he might as well have some fun.

She smirked, "Oh, I'm just getting started."

She twisted her hands into another arcane gesture before unleashing a moving wall of flames. It left a wide swath of still-burning ground behind it as it swept toward him.

"Shoot, yer really somethin', ma'am!"

For all his clumsiness, Braeburn had still managed to best a fair amount of the game, and this was one thing he could do. With surprisingly exact timing he hopped up and over the wall. Well, at least he'd picked a good class for a newbie. "We should take on somethin' big sometime," he called down, still airborne... Although now an even easier target with nowhere to dodge until he lands.

She'd been waiting for him to dodge. The Hurricane spell that followed blasted out from her outstretched hand in a wide cone. Gale force winds and high velocity rain, that hit as hard as stinging hail, slammed into him while he was in the air.

"Oh, I have plenty of big plans. Perhaps I could incorporate you into them..." She could always use more minions, and with some better gear and intelligent guidance he'd be quite the unstoppable bruiser.

Nope, definitely hadn't seen that one coming. He takes the full force of the spell, and to top things off it flung him even further into the air than he'd jumped and face-down back to the ground with a loud thud.

He didn't really like the sound of that comment but he was in no real position to reply. Surprisingly, though, he was getting back to his feet. The victor was pretty clear here but you had to give the guy points for tenacity.

She smiled across the arena at him. "You certainly are strong. That's good. I'd rather you didn't get too badly banged up."

Now that he was good and waterlogged from the Hurricane spell, she raised her hands and uttered a sharp chant to call down a lightning bolt. With the waterlogged debuff, he should take double damage - which was good, since he was surprisingly resilient. She needed him weakened more before she could use her finisher spells.

Oooh, ouch. Braeburn hadn't even finished standing when that bolt struck, a CRITICAL HIT on top of the debuff! He drops to one knee. It was pretty impressive that he'd lasted this long, but it was obvious that he was helpless before her.

She grinned to herself and sauntered toward him confidently. As she walked, she started chanting in a liquid, arcane language. Stopping when she was twenty feet away, she lifted her hands and then made an twisting arcane gesture with one hand toward him as she cast Charm on him.

If he failed the resist check, he'd find his will bent to hers. He'd find himself utterly charmed by her in every way, willing to do anything she told him to. Everything she told him to do would seem like a great idea to him.
