Intro | Resort Pool | BYOA

He's been an assumed permanent resident in what the hotel has given him as an afterlife for nearly three months, and when Wash got the notice that an island paradise vacation awaited all who wished to come he'd figured it was as good a time as any to try that whole being social thing again. Which is how he ended up sitting at the tiki bar beside ( Read more... )

Claire's sitting back in a bikini, sunglasses, and flip flops, a pina colada in hand. She sees the stranger approach, and gives a smile. "It is now," she says, her tone friendly. She's taking it easy on the flirting, happy just to relax and enjoy some sunshine.

Sometimes the hotel had other plans, but she manages to hold her own most of the time. "Like paradise, isn't it?" she asks casually, motioning toward the resort with her free hand.

(ooc: too lazy to switch accounts, here's Claire. :D I'll probably be making my OC an intro post soon, I'm feeling motivated. In case you wanted to poke her.)

Wash sets his pineapple down with a hollow thump, settling into the low seated chair with a grin. Pretty and friendly, double bonus.

"I've never seen anything like it," he follows her outstretched hand, taking in the view of the place. "I mean, I've really only seen the pool but I've got one of those little bungalows I'm looking forward to checking out later."

He laughs slightly and offers his hand across the small table; "Name's Wash."

(ooc: No worries, always up for a bit of a prod. *grin*)

"Nice to meet you, Wash," she returns easily, shaking his hand. "I'm Claire. I've seen quite a bit of this place; I've been here for a while. Doesn't seem to be a way out, not that I'm trying too hard to leave." While she misses her family, it's awful hard to pull herself away from a place where she doesn't have to worry about anything.

The sex doesn't hurt, either. "Haven't checked out the bungalows, but they look pretty comfortable. If they're like everything else I've seen, I'm sure they'll be pretty much perfect."

He chuckles softly, "Ahh, the hotel... Yeah, I've been kicking around a few months but mostly just keeping to myself." He doesn't elaborate, but adds; "I'm pretty sure I'm in for good - but it's not so bad. I mean, I've got everything I need - and then some."

Wash shrugs and takes a sip off his drink. "A tropical vacation to take a vacation from a pleasure palace - I mean, does it really get better than that?"

Tessa's skin remains pale, regardless of her tropical environment, a sharp contrast to her black hair and dark eyelashes, and a complement to her black & white babydoll dress. She glanced up as the newcomer approached, smiling in return.

"Not at all," she replies, gesturing toward the empty seat. "Make yourself at home."

"Thanks." He replies easily, taking a loud sip off his pineapple as he sinks into a chair. "This is some crazy place here..."

His words trail off as he looks her over with a kind smile. "Guess I should introduce myself. Name's Wash, part of the hotel group."

"Tell me about it." She smiles softly, and offers her hand. "Call me Tessa."

"Pleasure," he takes her hand and presses a gentle kiss to the back of her hand.

"I, uh... I've been around for a few months, but I don't really leave my room much. I don't think I've seen you around before, Tessa."

Zoe can't say it ain't nice, a little R & R after that hwoon dahn bounty hunter had come sneakin' through their boat and lives like whatever was theirs was his too. Not that she liked being stuck in this hotel-- but the alternative was seein' River sitting up in the cockpit with Mal and knowing that it was always gonna be too gorram soon ( ... )

She's a vision, perfect in every sense - everything he ever dreamed... And then he hears her voice and it's like he's been harpooned all over again - like he never left. For a second he stands, stunned, the thought that she might be a dream from the hotel immediately unlikely or he'd have seen her months ago. No, this is real.

On no. He's not sure if he spoke or not, but before he can react his pineapple hits the patio stones with a wet crack. "No." He whispers, "You can't be..."

His voice catches in his throat and he swears loudly, muttering in Chinese as he stumbles toward her and collapses to his knees at her feet, silently sobbing.

"Not you... No.. No..." He looks up at her, confirming it's not some cruel twist of fate that someone her spittin' image is there - but there's no mistaking the love of his life. "Zoe, please tell me this isn't real."

It's the sound of the impact and the spray of cold drink wet against her bare feet that opens Zoe's eyes more than the whispered words-- and she's sitting up just in time for the man to fall to his knees before her. "Now look here..."

The would-be threat dies on her lips. That familiar hair, and breath stops in her throat; it's the only reason she doesn't cry out when Wash lifts his head. His eyes, his eyes, his wonderful face. Zoe's laugh is choked as she cups his wonderful face. She's gone and cried out all her tears so long ago there's nothin' left but that's fine, because she's happy. Happy. Forgotten what that feels like, to be honest.

"I don't know," she smiles through her whisper, "and I don't care." A thumb brushes up his cheekbone. "Wash? What's wrong?" The words sound absurd because he's dead but right now Zoe couldn't give one good gorram. If she's crazy then bring on the bughouse.

His voice catches again and he can't stop shaking his head against her gentle touch. "Just... no." He sighs, managing to look up at her again. It can't be, there's not a think in the 'verse or the darkest pit of the black that could take down his Zoe. Aint no Reavers, no Alliance, no backwoods snake that can do her in.

He swallows hard and grasps her hand with both of his, kissing her palm. "You can't be dead. I won't let you."

have a friendly OC alien? C: strictly CR in all liklihood paintednoble October 17 2011, 02:35:35 UTC
His face had been hidden by his hat before he looked up from his own pineapple drink. Needless to say, the alien stuck out in a crowd. Skin as blue as the cloudless sky above, narrow features with magenta tattooed chin and lips, white-less black eyes with green points within their depths. His ears were long, curled at the ends and stuck out of his stark white long hair. A jagged deep sea-green scar ran the length of his face on his right and disappeared into his black long-sleeve top

Despite the balmy temperature, he didn't seem uncomfortable in his warm attire. A tattered red scarf hung around his neck and tan fingerless gloves showed off some serious black retractable talons on their tips completed the creature.

That and a returned smile that showed off several pointed teeth.

"Hello" he greeted back. "No, go right ahead" he gestured to the seat across from him.

Wash took the seat with a bemused grin, looking the strange... gentleman?... over with thinly veiled curiosity. "Thanks."

Realizing he'd been staring, he shook his head and let out nervous laugh; "Sorry... I've just never seen anyone that looks quite like you. Very interesting..."

The Valcovlian smiled again and nodded, "Yes, I get that a lot." he said and held out a hand. "I am Nickov. You are...?"

A human that didn't try to shoot, stab, strike or attempt to enslave him right off the bat was a good sign, and he took these rare opportunities as often as he could.

Wash is a pretty laid back guy and despite being slightly pointy the interesting individual doesn't seem to be a threat.

He took the offered hand and gave a firm shake, his smile lingering. "Call me Wash, most everyone does."
