She's got no recollection of arriving here, nor any idea why she'd want to. The party schtick went out with Jimmy Stones and her magically disappearing bank account. There must have been a good reason, her mind assures her, she just can't remember it. That should be more disturbing than it is.

As it is, she's more concerned with maneuvering through the writhing mass of teenage hormones without getting mauled than she is figuring out why she's doing it in the first place. Once she actually breaks free to a slightly quieter part of the house, her attention is grabbed by what looks to be a kindred soul. After only a few moment's consideration, she makes her way over to lean against the wall next to the stairs and offer a small smile. "Gettin' a breather?"

"Something like that." He sighed, looking up at her. He was pretty sure he didn't even recognize this girl. "That and reevaluating my taste in friends, since I know I'm not the one who decided to throw a party at my house."

He shook his head, sighing. "Sorry, don't mind me. I complain a lot," he admitted sheepishly, glancing down.

It's alright, she's definitely sure she's never seen him before. Her smile quirks a bit amused at his remark. "You ought to line 'em all up and make whoever did pay for the damages. Or...lease? For the space?" She crosses her hands behind herself, making her best attempt at sitting on a vertical surface, and laughs. "Well, I'm pretty sure you've got license to complain when people're throwing parties in your house without warning, yeah?"

He shook his head, patting the stair beside him. "You can sit down, you know. But yes, if I could actually find them, I'd have to talk to them about it. At this rate I may not manage to do it until the next time I run into them at school; I think they're avoiding me."

"Actually, you can't smell a spike if it was done with alcohol."

two sets of footfalls lacked down the stairs behind Erk - Charlotte, Erk's classmate, and her friend Shanoa. The two formed an odd pair, the former being a little shorter than Erk, and the latter's statuesque figure making her taller than some guys.

"Alcohol by itself doesn't smell. What you're thinking of is rohypnol."

"I still maintain you could smell a difference, if not the substance itself," Shanoa countered, taking a sip from the coffee mug she was holding - glasses had run out a while ago, and contents were decidedly not coffee. "Odourless dilution is still dilution."

The pair stopped their debate when they almost tripped over Erk, smiling down at him. "Hello, there. Why is the host in this corner by himself?"

Erk gave them a slightly sardonic smile, standing up. He felt awkward talking to someone who was standing up when he was sitting on something as low as the stairs, especially when one of the someones happened to be as tall as Shanoa. "I'm not sure I qualify as the host. I mean, yes, it's my house, but the party just sort of showed up. Hello, Charlotte, Shanoa."

"I didn't think that invite looked like your handwriting," Charlotte admitted. "And it was strange to have a meeting place somewhere else. Somebody must have known you'd be a good venue."
