Well, this just sucked, didn't it? A witch she may be, but a lot of good it did her in escaping her captors. Turns out, being able to fly meant little when her crow form was such a big target that even a half-blind man with Parkinson's could shoot her down with little trouble. They'd originally targeted her because of her "exotic" look; dark skin, straight black hair, and crimson eyes, but the instant she turned into a giant bird, she'd pretty much sealed her own fate.

Blanche looked up from the floor at her current captor, a look in her eye as if she was sizing him up. Granted, since she was on the floor, it was kind of difficult to get an accurate estimate as far as that went. Wiggling her shoulders, the woman tried to loosen the ropes binding her wrists behind her back. No luck.

"Could, uh... you just... cut that? Please? Since I'm your guest and all... this isn't very comfortable." She laughed, trying to pass it off as a joke. It was a long shot, but it was pretty much all she had.

"Depends. Are you gonna play nice?" he teased her, pulling the knife out of his belt. "Because if you try to beat me up, I might have to tie you up again."

He leaned down beside her and got to work cutting her ropes. "You'll have to excuse my men. Half of them can't read and the other half have never read about manners."

"Me? Beat you up? I'm just a harmless little girl, I would never-!" She's absolutely appalled you would say such a thing, good sir. Appalled, I say. Okay, so this 'little girl' was at least twenty-five, but that was beside the point.

As soon as the ropes were cut, Blanche let out a sigh of relief and rubbed her sore wrists. Did they have to tie them so tight? There would be bruises for a while...

"I'm not one to hold grudges, don't worry about it." Lies. Expect a few of them to find dead rats in their beds soon. "Soooo.... what should I call my dashing rescuer?"

"Maxi," he said. "Captain Maxi. I'm in charge of this little junk and the morons who run it." There was a certain amount of affection in his voice for his crewmembers, however.

"And what should I call the luckiest little almost-slave on the seven seas?"

She had gathered as much as that he was the leader, but now she knew his name. Certainly a unique name.

"Blanche." She answered, chuckling as she amused herself. "No fancy titles." Let's just not mention the whole 'witch' thing. That might not go over so well.

"Welcome aboard, Blanche," he said. "I gotta say, this isn't the first time we've run into slaves while taking a ship, but this is the first time there was only one and she was so damn pretty."

Blanche stared at him, wide-eyed for a moment before breaking into hysterical laughter. "You've been out to sea a long time, haven't you? I imagine any woman would look damn pretty about now." Though she had to admit, it was nice to be complimented after that whole ordeal with the slavers.

Maxi laughed at that. "You're pretty astute," he teased. "Though I've been all over the world and seen all the pretty women it has to offer. I can tell the real ones from the ones brought on by months at sea with a bunch of ugly men."

Not that Maxi minded men either, but women were definitely nicer to look at.

"You're certainly quite the charmer." Ah, what the hell. The slavers had been forbidden from touching her thanks to the whole bird fiasco (apparently, they were afraid for their souls if they touched a witch), so it'd been some time since she'd been with a man. What was the harm?

"You're not exactly hard on the eyes, either, Handsome. I could think of worse ways to be captured by pirates."

Ooh, he loved it when they played along. He grinned and took a step closer to her, brushing his hair out of the way.

"Looks like we both got lucky today, then," he teased her. "You get freed from being a slave, you get a ride to anywhere on the sea you want to go... and I get a beautiful lady to look at."

"Or maybe play with, if she's so inclined," he added, as a teasing afterthought.

Blanche matched that grin and crossed her arms under her chest (pushing her breasts up and exposing just a little more cleavage in the process).

"I'll have you know that I am a lady, and as such, expect at least to be treated to dinner first." Then they could play all they wanted. They hadn't exactly been feeding her much when she was locked up on the slave ship, so while she was partly teasing, she was truthfully half-starved. Or at least felt that way.

"Heh. Yeah, sure," he said, gesturing to his desk anchored in the middle of the room. "I'll bring you something from the galley. I gotta go sort out the riffraff out there, too. The gods only know what they've been up to while my back is turned."

Taking his cue, Blanche took a seat at the table, crossing her legs primly under it. "I'll be here." She assured him, waving at the pirate captain. Now, to find something not bolted down to smash the window with... No, she'd enjoy this a little more before splitting. No need to let such good hospitality go to waste.

"Behave yourself, now."

Maxi ducked out the door and back to the ship proper, returning in about ten minutes with a bowl of various ship provisions. Sadly, half of it was hard tack, but there were a few handfuls of dried fruits they'd snagged from the slaver ship.

"Here you go," he said, setting it down on the desk.

Well, beggars can't be choosers, and hunger is the best seasoning. In a manner that could hardly be considered ladylike, Blanche scarfed the offered food, and only after finishing did she place the corner of a handkerchief delicately to her lips.

"Thank you, it was more than adequate." A mischievous gleam flickered in her eyes, and the woman grinned, resting an elbow on the table. "So... what kind of game did you have in mind, Mister Pirate?"

He waited patiently, watching with amusement as she ate like she hadn't seen food in years. He chuckled as she finished and wiped her lips, then turned to face him.

"Oh, I don't know," he said. "I had a few ideas. Most of them don't involve clothes."
