Its employees were so beautiful - and skilled - that even the cops turned a blind-eye to the place. Rumor had it that Sukiko had an "arrangement" with the Chief of Police that helped ensure that, but as yet no one had been able to prove it.
"Last night that same something broke into the Gilded Lotus and tore the place apart. It went after us as well, and several of my poor girls were mauled so badly that I had to take them to the hospital." Sukiko herself had only avoided serious injury because of the mystic powers of her rose tattoo. She had not escaped unscathed however, and her elbow length gloves hid a myriad of deep scratch marks.
"I say something," Sukiko continued, "because the attacker left claw marks all over my furniture, and nothing human could have left the kind of marks I saw on my girls' skin. Whatever it is has got to stop before someone gets killed."
