Maria was new to the hotel, but was not unfamiliar with the design of it. Even with multiple floors and places to explore, the young maid was working her way into the library, intent on giving it a nice dusting.
"Is anyone here?" she called out, bringing with her a mop, bucket and broom, all for the purpose of making the hotel's slightly used library spik and span.
Mary steps out from behind the desk, finding the source of the voice. "Yes, I'm here - I'm not sure if there are any patrons about, but in case there are, please keep your voice down so to not disturb them." Her tone is quiet, even, and pleasant. She didn't like to be reprimanding as a first impression, but rules are rules.
Maria nodded, smiling at her as she held up her mop. "I'll just be a minute then," she said politely. "I'll be cleaning up the hotel library while there's a little time left over in the day."
Mary gave the other a smile, nodding back at her. "Ah, alright, thank you, miss. It's quite appreciated. Things do get a bit...dusty." There's a twinge of sadness in her tone. Even though the library was magnificent, it didn't see much use, short of a private area to do ...things.
Stephanie had been in the hotel for...how long again? Time didn't seem to matter much in this place, but when she'd found the library where she was sure there wasn't one? Something to explore.
"Hello? Is anyone else here?" Whoops - careful, Steph. Gotta be extra quiet in the library.
"Ah, well, not officially, but the poor place seems so forgotten, I couldn't help but try to work with it. And don't worry about it. I'm Mary - is there anything I can help you find?" Mary put forth her best helpful smile with a slight tilt of her head to the side to go with her question.

"Sorry about that; do you work here? I'm Stephanie, but my friends call me Steph." Part of Steph liked what Mary was wearing.
