Introduction. Eventless. Medium Aphro.

When Re-l Mayer came to, she was on a hard, cold surface, and by what she could deduce, she was wearing her sleeping garments. This was because her skin was in contact with it. Where ever she was, the light was of a brightness that pierced the dark behind her eyelids. With a stiff groan, and a need to move out of her uncomfortable position, she ( Read more... )

The room was empty, but after a moment the door swung open and a rather strange-looking man walked in.

Zelgadiss set the book he'd brought from the library down on a small table and stretched absently once the door was closed behind him. It had been a long day, and he'd been busy fending off several less-than-welcome advances; he tended to be reasonably choosy about his partners when he was in a state to be so.

He blinked as he realized there was someone else in the room and turned toward the girl standing in his bathroom door with a sigh. "This again. Have you just arrived?"

Once the initial discomfort of her arrival wore off, Re-l was more herself. She studied Zelgadiss, giving him a queer expression as she drunk in his overall appearance. She had never seen anything quite so peculiar, and she had been in the presence of many a proxy in the last few months. This assessment, however, only cause Re-l to guess of her short term amnesia of how she wound up here. 'Yeah, I just woke up on the bathroom floor. Tell me, where, or what, is this place?' The irregularity of Zelgadiss' appearance did nothing to stint her steadfast tone.

He sighed; he knew she wouldn't like the answer. People who were the sort that would like it rarely bothered to ask. "The short answer is that it's a giant, sentient love hotel in another dimension. Yes, I'm aware that that's ridiculous, but unfortunately it's also true. And a reliable way out has yet to surface."

He brushed a hand through his hair absently, pushing it out of his face as he went to sit on the bed. He really wanted to sit down.

Surprisingly, and if not alarmingly to Re-l, she did not immediately disbelieve Zelgadiss. In fact, after the entire affair with the Proxies and finding out about her cloned existence, she was a little more welcoming of the more out there beliefs, and possible facts, of the world. She sighed and tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear. It was still hard to digest, no matter how it was spun. 'Well,' she ventured. 'The situation could be more dire, in any other circumstance.' But as one question was answered, another one took its place. 'What is this ... peculiar sensation I'm feeling. It's something familiar, it's like love or attraction but ... it feels very off. Is this something concocted by, as you said, the "love hotel"?'

The scream of color was not the preferred habitat of this particular creature, but even a god of death can be lured into the light. Red was perhaps as suitable as any other color for the first proxy, and he did wear the tattered cloak that matched the walls. Even exposed however Proxy One was capable of many tricks, the one now being to suddenly appear behind little flawed Re-l Mayer, so contagiously human.

"You don't know?" His deep voice grinded out a chuckle as he loomed over her. He dropped down to her eye level. "Guess."

He wanted to see just how clever this manifestation of Monad's suffering truly was.

Re-l was not herself when she retreated back within the bathroom, using the edge of the sink as an anchor and a life line to rest against to keep her standing. The fluorescent light above flickered as if it cowered under the intensity of the proxy's arrival. She stared at the face that loomed beyond the light of the bathroom, hidden in the shadows of the adjoining bedroom suite. His clothes ruffled as if caught in a windless breeze. Her mind pained with the hopes of it being Vincent, but something inside her fervently wished her to see reason. Surely, such a horrible demeanour as this proxy could not be Vincent, she knew him a little better than that. Or did she? Paranoia had a cold grasp of her, reminding her hysterically of her short term memory loss, a distinct possibility considering her arrival ( ... )

"You got me. But at least it dropped me somewhere nice this time."

Billy was standing near the window, looking out into a dark night with no recognizable features to it. It was a mix between trying to figure out where he was and trying to fight off what he now knew was some kind of chemical circulating through the building. He only needed one guess at what kind of chemical it was, granted what he'd seen going on in the hallway outside.

His eyes met the woman appearing from the bathroom and he smirked slightly. "You just appear in there or something? It was empty earlier."

(ooc: muscles, anyone?)

Re-l was confused if not slightly annoyed. She trekked over to the luscious king sized bed, silk sheets and pillows lined with satin embroidery, all a burning crimson heat that was a part of the room. Her mind was too busy to see Billy at first, countless possibilities as to why she was here cluttered her mind, all seeming less likely as the next until the mere act of pondering caused her head to ache.

Then she heard Billy speak for a second time, and finally registered him as someone who could give her the answers. She brushed her fingers through her loose hair, tucking it behind her ear, only for it to slowly slip back. She looked up at him. 'Yeah, seems that way. I can't remember anything from before, I just woke up on the bathroom floor,' and for some reason she became hyper aware of how revealing her bed-clothes were, and how obvious the bruises that blotted her pale skin had become. Tucking her hair behind her hair again, she also employed some subterfuge and tugged her top lower over the markings. She sighed with the degree of ( ... )

"You're just gonna have to believe me on this one," he said, "but you're in a love hotel that makes people have sex with each other 24/7."

He turned around and headed back to the middle of the room, towards the bed where she was sitting. He was watching her and taking her in, not failing to notice that she was beautiful, or that she was fit, and certainly not failing to notice the bruises all over her body. "I'm not just saying it either. They pump chemicals in the air to 'help' and everything. I just woke up here half an hour ago myself."

"My name's Billy," he added, finally working up the courage to ask, "are you okay?"

Despite herself, Re-l did not find this news entirely improbable. After the mess involving the Proxies, and one in particular and his profound god-complex, to that of her own truth of being a clone, something as simple as a hotel designed specifically for sexual encounters seemed very much inside the realms of probability. This was a somewhat alarming fact she had stumbled upon. But she could not deny the fact she could feel the chemicals working inside her system, because it was to this Billy that she found herself inexplicably attracted ( ... )
