There were some who would wake up in an unfamiliar place and go instantly on the defensive, finding some item to use as a weapon as they traveled about to seek out answers. Others would relish the new adventure, trying to meet new people and see what this foreign territory really had to offer. Damon Gant, however, chose neither.
He found the pool

That was her only excuse for being there, in her old fashioned looking swimsuit and the towel in her hand. Miranda stood there for a moment, watching the older man swim, not wanting to interrupt and had just decided to leave and come back later when he spoke to her, making her almost jump out of her skin.
"Ah! Oh.. I-I'm sorry to have bothered you..? I didn't know the pool was occupied when I came inside here.. I can, I can come back later!" Really, she wasn't used to mixed bathing anyway.

In record time, one might add. This man seriously knew how to swim.
"Come, now! I don't bite, you can rest assured. Why, if you'd prefer, put a muzzle on me, just to be sure!"

"Ah..? If you're sure..? I don't want to be a bother or anything. I'm not much of a swimmer at all. I-I might get in your way.." Even as she spoke, she was setting down her towel and moving toward the steps.

Splendid.
"I assure you, you will have a wonderful time."

But there were some things that made one feel alive, even when they knew she should have been quite deceased, and that was swimming. She had long enjoyed the feel of the heated pool here at this crazy place, but what she hadn't anticipated, was the pool already being occupied, especially by a familiar face. Where had she seen this man before?
Mia stopped short, holding the towel to her chest, wondering if she should proceed.

And the beautiful-but-deceased Mia Fey's poolside presence was one of them.
His hand lowered slowly, his smile giving way to his deep, piercing stare. No surprise registered on his expression, though he was abundantly baffled at this turn of events. But that was no reason to be rude, right?
It was after fifteen seconds of uncomfortable silence that he spoke.
"Well! I do hope you don't take this the wrong way, but you were one of the last people I expected to see here... or anywhere, for that matter."

But if there was something that Mia Fey did well, it was present the best poker face she had to offer. A familiar smile slipped on her lips, her mental guard going up.
"I could say the same, Mr. Gant. It's been a while."

"It most certainly has. I'm glad to see you looking as wonderful as ever, Feybunny." he remarked, quirking a brow. "Though I won't lie to you and say I'm not just a tad intrigued."
Reaching the pool's edge he folded his arms on the surface, peering up at her inquisitively. "After all, I've never seen a ghost before."

"I didn't know this place had an indoor pool."
Well, it was a different change up from the main part of the hotel and then someone called out to her.

Now would probably be a good time to try and leave unnoticed. She'd rather not know how he of all people ended up here.

The patented Damon Gant soul-piercing stare?
Right into your eyes, Ema. Just him staring riiiiight at you. Who knows what he's thinking? Does he want revenge? Does he want to make amends? Does he want something that this mun shudders to imagine?
Nobody knows but Gant. And he's not saying a word.

She's just going to turn her head, because a staring contest is like trying a swimming contest against Gant. Not going to win, ever. Maybe if she's lucky he won't even recognize her.

Cadence stared at the water hesitantly, she was indeed, very warm but she wasn't sure if she should go in. She wasn't even sure how she found herself in this bathing suit but hugged herself in response. "N-No, I think I'm okay r-right here, sir."

His eyebrows quirked up a bit at the sight, but that was the only indication of his surprise. The ears and tail were unusual fashion accessories... Ah, but he wasn't exactly up on the trends these days, was he? Maybe they were the hip things to wear nowadays.
"Nonsense! A young woman such as yourself must stay in tip top shape, after all, and swimming is the best exercise there is!" He turned, gesturing to the rest of the pool. "After all, there's more than enough room for both of us, mm?"

Well, he would be in for a surprise when he found out they were real. But for now, the ears simply twitched slightly as she still looked at the water warily. "W-Well yes but... I never learned how to swim" Cadence flushed hard, tentatively sticking a toe into the cool water where the steps were. "I-I think I'm okay over here."
