Intro // Aphro(?) // No event

There were some who would wake up in an unfamiliar place and go instantly on the defensive, finding some item to use as a weapon as they traveled about to seek out answers.  Others would relish the new adventure, trying to meet new people and see what this foreign territory really had to offer.  Damon Gant, however, chose neither.

He found the pool ( Read more... )

Probably going to hell for this one. :V 1/2 dangerouscience June 2 2010, 18:26:27 UTC
This place was certainly strange and Ema was doing her best to just stay away from any bed room of the sort. This was really all scientifically unsound how she ended up here. So, it made her a little grumpy, which usually lead to angry snacking later.

"I didn't know this place had an indoor pool."
Well, it was a different change up from the main part of the hotel and then someone called out to her.

Oh god...it was him.

Now would probably be a good time to try and leave unnoticed. She'd rather not know how he of all people ended up here.

Leave unnoticed? Oh, perish the thought, Ema. He sees you; do you really think you can just walk away, now? Can you walk away from...

The patented Damon Gant soul-piercing stare?

Right into your eyes, Ema. Just him staring riiiiight at you. Who knows what he's thinking? Does he want revenge? Does he want to make amends? Does he want something that this mun shudders to imagine?

Nobody knows but Gant. And he's not saying a word.

. . .

But, but the Gant raepings happen there. D: dangerouscience June 2 2010, 18:45:27 UTC
Goddamit and she has been spotted. She could just walk away for sure and not say a word, but it's like the stare had paralyzed her for now. It surely makes one uncomfortable, not to mention the silence.

"..."

She's just going to turn her head, because a staring contest is like trying a swimming contest against Gant. Not going to win, ever. Maybe if she's lucky he won't even recognize her.

Oh well those happen everywhere 8T weallgoswimming June 2 2010, 18:58:12 UTC
Don't look away! That's a bad idea. It gives him time to get out of the pool and before you know it he's standing right in front of her. Oh, now look what you've done.

And yes, he's still just in his swim trunks.

"My! Now this is unexpected, truly. It's been so long, mm?"

Shiiiiit. Just great now she had to deal with close distant eye contact and more importantly tall bronzed buff older man in front of her. The corner of her eye is twitching ever so slightly.

Thank god he wasn't in a speedo.
"Probably not long enough."

Why wasn't he in his speedo? What a good question. Things to remember for next time!

"Oh, your words are so hurtful. Truly! I'm crushed." His tone of voice held that sincerity that was so perfect it almost made your skin crawl; of course, it was a voice she certainly knew all too well, hmm?

"Don't tell me you're still perturbed? Why, it's all water under the bridge. Water you should be swimming in."

Ema may never be able to unsee that image if he does.

The young woman couldn't help but feel a shudder run up her spine. There was always something off about the man, since she first met him.

"I guess we all can't be as forgiving as you." Sticks her bottom lip out. Ema's a bit grumpy, no wait she always is, but more so that you're here and she's in this place. Not that she hasn't seen multiples of Gant before (god she hope not here too), she's still isn't fond of him whether he did something or not.

"Yeah. Don't swim and can't swim, so I stay away from the water."

Who would want to unsee such glory.

"Ah, but here you are at a pool! So it seems, Emmy, that you aren't staying away quite as well as planned." He turned to face the water, resting a hand on his hip as he stroked his beard with the other. Ema didn't seem to like him, much, he could tell, but at the same time she didn't seem as unsettled as he thought she would be after the whole SL-9 revelation.

How interesting.

"You know, inevitably you'll end up having to go to some sort of large body of water; in the name of research, perhaps! It really would do you best to learn to swim, if only a little."

Ema. ;V She doesn't want to see more of you that one should in a lifetime.

"Don't call me that and I just happened to come across here. I'm not exactly dressed to swim anyway." Though she had discarded her labcoat awhile ago, since the peculiar warm atmosphere in the hotel left her feeling a bit hot in it for once. Well, it was apparent she wasn't too fond of him, though she seemed somewhat tamed. Maybe it was just this place.

"..a possibility in my line of work. Though, I'd just rather not learn."
It's not like she's scared of the water. What are you talking about?

"Oh? Emmy's no good? Skydear, then." he conceded; he liked Emmy better, but he could compromise. After all, he was an understanding man, was he not? "As far as swimwear is concerned, I'm certain it wouldn't be hard to come by. Even underwear is suited for swimming!"

He just went there.

Ah, but his ever-watching gaze is taking note of each of her mannerisms, every inflection in her voice, every singly irregularity in how she behaves. He's a mastermind of that sort of thing, after all, and bit by bit he's piecing things together.

"Why not? There's certainly nothing to be... afraid of."

"I'd rather not have any pet names and that one isn't any better."
Does she look like she belong in a reward show? Nope.

She makes a soft groan grimacing a little, as she closed her eyes. She might have even looked a little flustered. "I'd rather not, even though technically they're about the same thing."
This is what makes Gant scary cause he's too smart for his own good.

"W-who said I was afraid of anything?! I just don't feel like it."
More afraid of swimming with a orange shark.

Well, that was all a matter of perspective, wasn't it? Perhaps some would see Ema as a trophy to be won, or taken; but naturally that wasn't the case, right? Gant smiled apologetically. "Terribly sorry. The last thing I want to do is cause more discomfort, my dear."

He chuckles at her observation, hands clapped together yet again. "They certainly are! Why, some bathing suits are actually more revealing than undergarments! Shocking, I know! In a sense, you might be better off that way."

What was that? Was that a stutter? Now now, who do you think you're kidding? "Yet here you are! If you were truly nothing but opposed to the idea, I imagine you would have turned heel and left the scene, am I right? But... here you remain. Why?"

He wouldn't be Gant if he didn't cause some kind of discomfort. How did her sister tolerate being called a pet name? Much less work with him.

Should it be remotely disturbing that in a way he's right? Besides, she's not going to wander off to go find one, "That is pretty accurate I guess." I mean unless the underwear is like see through lingerie or something and it's not.

What? A stutter it wasn't a stutter. It's a lisp, she swears. There was a silent huff at his words as she didn't answer him. Why was she still here? The last thing she wanted to be was in his presence of all people, yet somemhow she felt compelled to stay put.

...

"..I don' treally know."

Because they got things done! That's all there was to it. That, and the blackmail.

Their conversation about swimsuits and underwear was discarded with that last statement. Did she not know? Or did she know, and not wish to answer? No, she didn't seem to say it that defensively; she truly didn't understand why she was still here. Which put him in a good position; after all, in times of uncertainty, people will cling to the ideas of the most confident voice.

"It's not that complicated. You're here because you do want to be. There's no sense in denying that much, correct?"

Can't forget the blackmail. Way to keep her under your thumb. Lana probably was forced to swim too.

It was feeling awkward to be conversing with GAnt like this. Though more so it was probably the thought of water and swimming about in it making her feel uneasy. Exhales giving a tug to her collar to open it to help in giving air through her shirt.

"I think you're just saying that cause you've had years of experience. Though it probably comes natural to you. And I guess not."

It was remotely better than being in any other place in the hotel at the moment.
