Rangiku had been traveling the halls, heading for the Hotel's restaurant to have dinner and a drink before she would quickly go back to her room before anything would happen to her. She seemed to be deep in thought as she walked along.

Well, that was an accident waiting to happen. The Doctor hadn't meant to bump into her, but with them both somewhat lost in thought it was hard to avoid. "I'm terribly sorry," he apologized, smiling at the woman. "I must not have been paying attention."

Rangiku blinked, having stepped back from the pump "oh... sorry... yes.. hee~ seems i was floating about in headspace too~ Sorry."

"That's quite alright. I was just on my way for something to eat. Would you ... care to join me?" 'Fortune favored the bold and foolish', wasn't that the saying? Honestly, the Doctor had little or no lewd thoughts in mind (odd as that might have seemed), but truly did like the idea of having company as he ate.

"That sounds nice. sort of like a blind date~!" And of course rangiku was never one to turn down a date nor think it odd to go out eating with a random stranger. "I was heading for the Restaurant down near the Lobby anyway~"

"There's restaurant in the lobby? Perfect. I'm sure it will be delightful," the Doctor replied, offering his arm to the young woman. He didn't know anyone here either. Being shy and hiding from everyone hardly seemed the logical choice.

She smiled, taking his arm with a soft giggle. "I'm Matsumoto Rangiku by the way. A Shinigami from the Japan Region of Soul Society"

"I'm afraid I'm not familiar with that organization," the Doctor said, wrinkling his forehead in thought. Soul Society? Sounded theistic, at any rate. It certainly wasn't historically familiar to the former hologram at all, though he did recognize the Japanese name and title.

"You're a death spirit?" he asked incredulously. "Well, for a representation of death, you're certainly quite attractive."

Rangiku giggled, nodding. "Domo. What about you? Got a name? You seem pretty smart. Even understanding a little Japanese~ I bet you have a smart name too~"

"I'm, er-- well, I'm The Doctor," he replied, now slightly shy. After all, most people were sure to find his name more than a bit odd, which was troubling. He really didn't want to be questioned too extensively on it.

"Doctor! See! A smart name!" of course she didn't see much odd with it asa name. after all, she came from a country where naming someone after an object was normal, why not a profession?
