Will a god's daughter do? hates_cockroach March 22 2010, 04:33:28 UTC
Pluto walked through the halls, mildly surprised when the scent of flowers came into the hallway when she was nowhere near the garden she had found. While she normally would not simply go into a strange place, she was drawn to the scent and walked through the door only to appear in a forest.

She sat down in the clearing, taking a moment to savor the scent of the strange flowers.

Yes indeed. pixiesaretasty March 22 2010, 04:38:29 UTC
"Dear lady, I believe you are trespassing." Came the smooth, clear voice of a man nearby, who had apparently managed to walk up to her without making a sound. It was obvious at first glance that he wasn't human, as he seemed just a little too at home in this place filled with magic.

"This is your forest, sir?" She was surprised that someone was able to walk up to her without any sort of sound, but if this was his forest, perhaps there would be an explanation for it.

"Aye, it belongs to me." He nodded, spreading an arm out to gesture to the trees surrounding them. "And there is a toll to be paid for those who desire to pass through my land."

His eyes roamed over her form as he talked, trying to decide what form of 'toll' he could claim from this one. She was obviously well-off, so she probably carried jewels or other valuables.

Ashe found herself drawn to the feeling of fresh air coming from the doors - the last time she followed such a scent, she'd met someone she now rather liked and trusted. Perhaps he'd be out here again... she certainly had trouble believing it could be worse than what she'd recently been through.

Sakuya wasn't here, nor - as she found she'd been half-hoping, somehow - was Rasler. Why had she thought he'd be here? Just finding him suddenly in a beautiful forest was a silly, romantic notion - she knew he was dead.

But at least perhaps she could rest here a while and recover. She sat on the soft grass under a tree at the edge of the glade, the scent of the flowers lulling her into a doze.

He watched her for a while, unseen. She was really quite the lovely lass, and just his type. When she sat to rest, he finally made his presence known, speaking from atop low branch behind her.

"What is this vision of beauty that has wandered so blithely into my home?"

Ashe was on her feet in an instant, whirling around. She was a bit edgy at the moment, even with the clearing working its magic. "Who are you?"

He smirked at her reaction. He found it rather endearing, to be honest. "I am Tam Lin, my dear, and you have trespassed upon my land." He chuckled, hopping down from the tree. "I hope you are prepared to pay me recompense for this offense."

The little blond ballerina had decided to explore the new place she had been thrown to; it wouldn't be bad to be aware of it. Of course she had proceed carefully, still remembering the warning the Phantom gave her, she stopped when she caught the fresh scent of flowers and she cool breeze, curiously she walked in that direction and carefully opened the door, peaking outside and smiling in delight at the beautiful sight in front of her.

Meg looked around before shrugging and walked further into the clearing, her attention was immediately drawn to the flowers and she smiled. "So beautiful!"

"Just the word I had in mind." Spoke Tam Lin from behind her, standing where the door once was. Said door was no longer there; and the glade stretched out in all directions around them. It seemed there was no way back to the hotel for now.

The young man approached her, his footsteps silent as he strode forward. "Aye, it is beautiful, isn't it? And what a lovely mouse that has wandered into my midst as well."

Meg nearly jumped when she heard the male's voice and quickly turned around, there was just a bit of apprehension when she noticed the door was gone, what in the name of God had that happened? She was aware of locking doors but not doors that disappeared.

Despite the odd situation she stood where she was and slowly nodded. "Yes, it is monsieur." She wasn't going to make any comment about the mouse comment; she was kind of used to those. "Have you been here long?"

Tam Lin tilted his head, then glanced around at the trees surrounding them. "Long? I cannot say. It has been some time, though I no longer am sure just how many years I have resided in Carterhaugh." He answered simply. Surely it must have been less than seven years... Or had it been longer? He remembered some vague details about leaving, so why had he returned? Hmm, no matter.

"But that is a tale for another time. For now, I must address the matter at hand. That being that the mouse has wandered into a home not her own, and the master of this land demands recompense for her transgression."

Fresh air was a rare thing indeed within the hotel. The merest whiff of something fragrant and cool was enough to stop Orihime in mid-step, her head turned as her senses were successfully piqued. She'd always had a good sense of smell, and there was no denying the scent of wildflowers and the clean smells of a budding spring day ( ... )

Her words had drifted to his ears before she stepped through, an amused grin spreading across his face. Look after her kindly? Yes, he might be able to do that. That and more. The young woman who now intruded upon his home was rather winsome, if he did say so himself.

It was no surprise that she had succumbed to the magic of the forest, either. To mortals, it was irresistible. The magic of the fae always was. However, he could only allow her a few moments of repose before breaking it. It was his duty, after all.

"And who are you to trespass upon this land?" He spoke, seeming to appear from nowhere, just a few steps away.

"WAHH?!" Orihime jumped, the sound of her startled cry sending a small flock of sparrow-like birds into the sky. She put a hand over her heart, a sheepish grin replacing the surprised look on her face. "W-wow, you're good, I didn't even see you." Was he lying down in the flowers before?

Or was he perhaps...?

"Are you a spirit?" she asked, her eyes growing brighter with delight. He might have been the spirit of the meadow, protecting it with his presence. That would explain his sudden manifestation, as well as the pointed ears.

Politely she bowed. "Inoue Orihime. Please forgive my trespass! If I am unwelcome, I can--" Her finger pointed toward the door as she started to speak, but she found herself pointing only at trees. Speechless, she blinked. "Er...the door's gone..."

Was he aware of this?

"Spirit?" He seemed taken aback for a moment, then burst into laughter, his voice clear and bright. "Nay, I am no spirit, milady." He was well aware of the door's disappearance, as it was partly through his own power that said door had appeared in the first place.

He walked past her, following her pointed finger, leaving no footprints behind, as the foliage seemed to simply move out of his way to avoid being crushed. "Door? Whatever could you mean?" He asked, feigning ignorance, then turned his head to look at her. "But you must realize that you're intruding on a place most sacred. How to you plan to make up for your mistake?"

The smell of fresh wild flowers... As with anything, that scent easily caught Mesprit's attention, making her turn to the doorway. She could sense something strange about this situation, but she was a Naive little sprite, filled with curiosity as she stepped through the doorway. Unlike other rooms she had been in, there was... a clearing? The Lake Guardian turned in every direction, taking notice of her new surroundings. It wasn't until she looked forward once again when her steps were halted.

Mesprit gasped with awe, completely taken aback by it all. Never before had she seen anything like this before, not even by the shores of Lake Verity. Her golden eyes took in everything - the trees, the unfamiliar yet lovely variety of flora, the sunlight's rays peeking from through the tree canopy - but it was mostly the aroma of fresh, pure air made her smile, causing her to take a deep breath. It was good to have something untainted to fill her lungs for once. "Ah, how...how beautiful..." With an innocent giggle, the pink-haired girl ( ... )

'Untainted' was a relative term. Untainted by man, perhaps, but for those familiar with it, the place reeked of faerie magic. It was what brought the land its unnatural beauty, and was far more dangerous than anything man could conceive of, for it could addle the mind and steal away the senses, especially those of reason and direction.

"I do hope you do not plan to take some for yourself." Tam Lin spoke, suddenly standing before her, the grass and flowers seeming to simply move out of the way of his boots rather than be crushed beneath them. He carried that same taint of magic that flowed through the forest.

"Oh?" The voice startled Mesprit easily, opening her eyes as she let out a surprising gasp; she had been far too entranced by everything around her to have sensed the stranger's presence sooner. She looked up at him, noticing how the plants avoided his footsteps as her gaze met his. There was something about him as well, she figured to herself... but she could ask about that later.

Still, she had to explain her actions to him - it was the right thing to do. She sat up straight, hoping that she wasn't in any sort of trouble. "Ah, no...I was just smelling them, that's all. I didn't mean any harm... It's probably for the best that I don't pick them, isn't it?" She was easily embarrassed with a bit of pink on her cheeks, yet Mesprit's soft-spoken words were nothing but truthful.

"I would not appreciate strangers taking from my home what does not belong to them, no." He answered, taking a few steps toward her. His footfalls silent, he left no leaf or blade of grass disturbed behind him, as if he, too, was a part of the forest itself.

"I also have little appreciation for those who enter my home without my permission." A smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth. "That's called trespassing, lass."
