Terry had made a big decision. It was pretty much the biggest decision he had made since he had accepted the job at Witch Weekly and moved back to England. And, once again, it was a decision about moving.
After Jess had stayed with him and told him, in that blunt way that only siblings could, that it was boring living where he lived, Terry had started thinking. And thinking and thinking and thinking until he came to the conclusion that, really, it might be a good idea if he moved to a place of his own. His love life hadn't exactly been stellar since he had moved in with Padma and, as much as he enjoyed living with her, if he moved to London he'd been a lot closer to work and fabulous shopping opportunities.
Now, after making this decision, he felt like celebrating. When he'd arrived at the Leaky, he'd been painfully reminded that it was karaoke night by a wizard killing a rendition of Mama Mia. ABBA really didn't deserve that sort of treatment. Finishing his drink, Terry decided to show them how it should be done, and sauntered up to the stage, microphone in one hand and cigarette in the other.
The race is on to get out of the bottom,
The top is high so your roots are forgotten,
Giving is good as long as you're getting,
What's driving you it's ambition and betting,
I said who do you think you are?
(I said who)
Some kind of superstar,
You have got to swing it, shake it, move it, make it,
Who do you think you are?
Trust it, use it, prove it, groove it,
Show me how good you are,
Swing it, shake it, move it, make it,
Who do you think you are?
Trust it, use it, prove it, groove it,
Show me how good you are
You're swelling out in the wrong direction,
You've got the bug, superstar you've been bitten,
Your trumpet's blowing for far too long,
Playing the snake of the ladder, but you're wrong
I said who do you think you are?
(I said who)
Some kind of superstar,
You have got to swing it, shake it, move it, make it,
Who do you think you are?
Trust it, use it, prove it, groove it,
Show me how good you are,
Swing it, shake it, move it, make it,
Who do you think you are?
Trust it, use it, prove it, groove it,
Show me how good you are
You have got to reach on up, never lose your soul,
You have got to reach on up, never lose control
I said who do you think you are?
(I said who)
Some kind of superstar,
You have got to swing it, shake it, move it, make it,
Who do you think you are?
Trust it, use it, prove it, groove it,
Show me how good you are,
Swing it, shake it, move it, make it,
Who do you think you are?
Trust it, use it, prove it, groove it,
Show me how good you are
Swing it, shake it, move it, make it,
(who do you think you are?)
Trust it, use it, prove it, groove it
Show me how good you are
Swing it, shake it, move it, make it,
(who do you think you are?)
Trust it, use it, prove it, groove it
Show me how good you are
Swing it, shake it, move it, make it,
(who do you think you are?)
Trust it, use it, prove it, groove it
Show me how good you are
Swing it, shake it, move it, make it,
(who do you think you are?)
Trust it, use it, prove it, groove it
Show me how good you are
Swing it, shake it, move it, make it,
(who do you think you are?)
Trust it, use it, prove it, groove it
Show me how good you are
Terry grinned as he finished, feeling elated. Karaoke certainly got the adrenaline pumping.
