These last two days was supposed to be spent with Sarah watching Hellsing and Slayers, but Sarah pleaded other business, namely her summer course was going to conflict with it all. I can't blame her, she NEEDS this course so by all means go for it (GOOD LUCK BY THE WAY!!!). That and with her recent mishap in her sucba safety course (another concussion, damn girl!!!) she needs R&R just as much as I do. Our lives are never without some sort of crazy stress/excitement. Dull moments? We've never heard of them.
We've rescheduled for this Wedesday, and Vincent may be tagging along. I was hoping to just hang out with Sarah to make up for lost time over the course of the summer. The last time we got a chance to see her outside of Ultrazone was Star Wars back in May. I have no choice but to blame Alex for all of this. Had he not been such a dumbass, I would have had time for my friends this summer. *whimper* ANYWAY, whether Vincent is with her or not it should still be a grand time, I've definetly decided that I want to see Hellsing in it's entirity and I'm feverishly awaiting it. Looking forward to seeing Sarah too!
Oh yeah, I found a Giant that carries Halbenaro Peppers for my Puero Pibil dish! Huzzah!
I played Makai Kingdom today and yesterday and picked up probably one of the best quotes of all time out of it for Lord Zetta of the Netherworld:
"Disperse my loyal battle monkeys! Go forth and bust a cap!"
*shock and awe*
This is one of the many reason why Nippon Ichi RPGs are the greatest to grace systems, they are never dull and the action is over the top and the dialog is first rate. Huzzah.
Bridgette now realizes when I get my hat and my sneakers...........it's walkie time! Jumping up in the air and wagging her tail into a torenadeo. She loves her walks. Snap the leash on and she'll patiently wait by the front door. Sophie has gotten to the point where I snap the leash on and she BOLT for the door and sit there next to Bridgette. She's still kinda unsure about me, but she's got the routine down, which is always good.
JD is a cute kitty.
(I ain't got much to say about him, he just lounges and guards the house!)
I finally saw Equalibrieum (sp?) with Christian Bale. A very interesting action flick in the spirit of the Matrix. Man has found a solution to all war and conflict: cut off man's ability to feel, to have emotion. I know I'd kill myself if I had to go through that. I know (and if anyone knows me know) that the last 5 years of my life have been filled with so much joy and grief it'll make your head spin, but to have lived through it all and not FEEL any of it, I'd rather be dead. You take this drug about every 6 hours and it supresses emotion in all forms. To feel, is a crime, and anything that inspires emotion whether it be art, music, or collectibles/antiques are destroyed. It's a really sad depication of humanity under this drug. It's a constant struggle of the underground vs the gobal police called Clerics. Bale misses a dose of the drug and suddenly sees everything differently. He then defects to the underground and wages a one man war from the inside of the Cleric orgainzation and in the end brings it all down. It's also got one of the most dramatic and energetic fight scenes not scene SINCE the Matrix films.
It's pacing is a bit different from most action flicks. There's a lot of dialog and character development through the course of this, and it's a good 2 hour film. So if you're expecting Matrix speed in story telling, you're gonna be surprised. So get comfortable, it's gonna be a while.......HOWEVER, this movie is totally worth seeing. It's rather amusing with this Matrix-like theme, yet Keanu Reeves isn't in it. Bale, however has a striking resemblence to him, such a resemblence that I was WAITING and WANTING him to just utter a "Whoa", but it never happened.
Impessive action flick in a world dominated by Keanu in bullettime and Uma Thurman with katanas.
