friday - jan's bizzak! went over to the wong household to do a lil catch-up, exchange stories, pictures and laughs. it's so great seeing her. even though she's been gone for over a year, i'm glad things haven't changed. it's like we never skipped a beat, the friendship just picks up where we left off. at night, hit up Guvernment for a 80s-90s jam with paolo, cyn, chris, eddy and tom. yeahhhh for old jams, had a great time! then we headed to everyone's hot spot after clubbin, New Ho King, saw m, pamela, avik and ten, and ate some yummy yummy food.
saturday was the beginning of Volleyball Weekend! went to church for service and events, just spending time with old friends i haven't seen in a year. it's so great seeing these people. spent some time with lis after doing errands and we ate some indian food. she's one quriky girl, even though we bug each other 24/7, its great to have a sis like that. afterwards met up with bin, val and jan at milestones for some great conversation, jokes, and hilarious travel stories and continued the night back at bin's house. i took off early to get some much-needed shut eye for sunday.
sunday - woke up at 6:30am to get to the 8am V-ball tournament in Brampton. it was such an amazing day even though i'm sore as hell. played 11 games in total, 7 wins - 4 losses. we were undefeated up until the finals, but then lost a game against the top playing team. this team from ottawa, their guys must play club vball and cuz their strength, technique, abilities etc are ridiculously good. they're the type of players where you just run away or shield yourself when they spike cuz they could take off a limb, literally. we didn't make it to the finals but played a 3rd place match against the "youngins." our team consisted of all the "older" players, our opponents - our younger siblings. don't like admitting it but they beat us!! BOOOOOOO! haha, it was intense though cuz it was such a close game. i love our church vball tournaments, the atmosphere is just friendly and not crazy-intense and competitive. too bad they only happen once a year cuz i miss seeing all the familiar faces. after the tournament came home and went to le bifteck with tom. great food, great conversation, we haven't done that in awhile...well, a week. =)
