Snow!
Yep, we have snow! Had to clear 2.5" of the stuff off my car this morning, and when I arrived at work this morning there was already a snowman outside the building. Apparently built by our HoD's secretary.
Had a quick walk around the top of the lake yesterday lunchbreak, and a lot of it was still covered in a thin layer of ice. One of the swans was forcing a path through it like an icebreaker, crushing down on it with its chest, while smaller birds were just walking across the top. Will have to go round again today and have another look.
ETA: I've looked. The thaw is in progress, but there's still plenty of ice on the lake. And walking around just a small section of the campus I saw around fifteen snowmen, some rather taller than me, and one rather large snow fort.
