Well, the bug mentioned in the last entry has turned out to be the nastiest one I've suffered in a very long time. I'm feeling drained, headachey, feverish, more sensitive to cold, suffering some loss of appetite, and my tonsils feel so raw that it hurts to swallow. I've kept that under control with doses of Lemsip Max Strength and Ibuprofen, which has allowed me to eat at least a bit, but it's not really getting me over the bug itself.
I took a day off on tuesday hoping that would be enough to get me through it. On wednesday, still off work, I made an appointment to see the doctor this morning. Having heard my symptoms, listened to my chest and looked at my tonsils, he prescribed me a 7 day course of antibiotics. Tomorrow looks like being my fourth day off work, so I'll need to enquire about arranging a doctor's note. First time I've ever had to do that.
I've tried to get outside for short spells while the weather's been good, to make sure I get some walking done and keep myself from getting completely out of tone from just lying around the house. Feels weird walking around in bright sunlight with three layers of clothing on, but I'd rather do that than not get any daylight at all.
Watched a documentary on rogue alligators in Orlando today. At one point the presenter was seen wordlessly pointing a walking cane at a large roadside sign which read "When Gator's Attack". The sign is presumably there to highlight the problem, but I like to think that the presenter, like me, was indicating the appalling grammar. Hmm, I can't be all that unwell then.
Edit: Almost forgot to say, many thanks to all the wellwishers commenting to this or the previous post. It does my morale good. :-)
