Whine

So I made an exciting discovery a few weeks ago! No, it's not that my LJ has fallen from the ranks of paid users to a lowly free user - although I did notice that too.

No, in fact, I learned that I have a local vineyard! Although they call themselves a "winery". Not sure on the difference. Anyway, I'm in an Italian restaurant in Twyford, and their wine list contains a red and a white from a local vineyard! Like 5 minutes down the road!

The reason this is such a miraculous discovery is that I have need of exciting British products because I'm going to meet Lisa's parents in 4 weeks time. And as a weel brought up and thoughtful individual I will be bringing them presents as a thankyou for allowing me to stay in their house. And hence the British wine - wine is traditional for such things, and it being British (like me!) is a quirky twist on the theme.

So tonight I have been drinking the Stanlake Park "Hinton Grove" which is an "off-dry, aromatic white wine". And it was damned tasty too - I could have easily drunk a second bottle. Although then I'd have struggled to type this entry!

To sum up - UK wine rules, ok!
