Synopsis for the Misfits Christmas special. The part that really made me sit up was this:
Simon is busy practicing his parkour skills in an effort to become his future superhero self and find himself deserving of his new lady's affections
So, not only do Simon and Alisha get together in the series finale, but he finds out about Superhoodie's identity. That has to screw with your mind. But it's a bit gratifying also.
What do I mean? Well, so far we have had several episodes focusing on Alisha's feelings about Future Simon (and they were really all about Alisha's point of view), and nearly all the fan fiction I had read about the pairing are dealing with Alisha's emotional fall out from Future Simon's death. How current Simon might feel to find out that someone is attracted to him because (a) a future version of himself told her she would fall in love with him, (b) his future self is a lot more superhero-y than his current self, and (c) he gives his life for her... that was the question I was (very briefly) trying to look at in my last drabble, because I thought it was a question no one was asking properly. And like in the synopsis, the key word I used was "deserve". Because finding out about the future is something that is going to test Simon's resolve and newly found confidence.
In summary: Simon is awesome. More people should write him. The end.
