Kristen Stewart (The Runaways), Sam Riley (Control) and Garrett Hedlund (Eragon) will star in Walter Salles' adaptation of Jack Kerouac's On the Road. Stewart will play Dean Moriarty's incandescent on-and-off wife Marylou, while Riley will star as Kerouac's alter ego Sal Paradise. Hedlund has been cast as Moriarty. Australian directors Peter and Michael Spierig (Daybreakers) have signed on to Power of the Dark Crystal, the sequel to Jim Henson's The Dark Crystal. (Rope of Silicon)

Toby Jones (Infamous, The Painted Veil) is in final talks to play a villainous scientist, Arnim Zola, in Captain America. Hugo Weaving is also on board as Red Skull. Joe Johnston (The Wolfman) is directing the World War II-set movie, which sees Chris Evans in the title role, Sebastian Stan (Gossip Girl) as sidekick Bucky Barnes, and Hayley Atwell as the hero’s love interest, Peggy Carter. CW has acquired the rights to cancelled vampire show Moonlight, which starred Alex O'Laughlin, Sophia Myles and Jason Dohring. Repeats of the show will air on CW over the summer paired with encore episodes of The Vampire Diaries, staring June 3. (THR) [imdb]
