I HAVE GUY GAVRIEL KAY'S NEW BOOK IN MY HANDS!!!! (Also, the new Steph Swainston novel, Above the Snowline.)
It's set in (a place inspired by) Tang China, and Kay basically rips off Li Bai's most famous poem in the first chapter, attributing it to a fictional poet, Sima Zian, who is actually a character in the novel.
