First trailer and some publicity images for J. J. Abram's sci-fi mystery series Fringe have been released. You may want to avoid it if you get squeamish about needles. Anna Torv plays FBI Agent Olivia Warren, who is forced to confront the spread of unexplained phenomena and work with Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble), an institutionalized scientist whose work might be at the center of a coming storm, and his brilliant but estranged son, Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson). Lance Reddick, Mark Valley, and Kirk Acevedo are part of the supporting cast. Jace at Televisionary reviewed the pilot before the writers' strike (he liked it), and the story doesn't seem to have changed much since the pilot was filmed. [imdb]

A new clip has turned from the just-filmed pilot of Joss Whedon's Dollhouse, showing Eliza Dushku and Tahmoh Penikett. It makes me think that Dushku is playing a set of twins in the show, one of whom is the Active Echo, and the other who is looking for her missing sister (and who will enlist the FBI agent's help). If I'm right, and the woman in the clip isn't just Echo on a mission, it would be yet another reminder of La Femme Nikita, and its characters of Seymour and Jason Birkoff."

Daniel Feinberg at Zap2it takes a look at the scripts for Dollhouse and Fringe:
'The introduction to [the Dollhouse] universe is immediately disorienting, but also enthralling, as Whedon mixes elements of the conspiracy thriller with what threatens to become a profound meditation on identity. Dollhouse comes across as darker in tone and slower in pace than anything Whedon has previously attempted and while there's humor sprinkled throughout, the sensation at the end is one of overarching menace and also sadness.'
There's also an interview with Joss Whedon (writer, producer and director of Dollhouse) in the LA Times. (via)

Trailer for the post-apocalyptic kids film set in an underground city, City of Ember. Saoirse Ronan and Harry Treadaway play Lina and Doon, two teenagers who must search Ember for clues that will unlock the ancient mystery of the city's existence, and help the citizens escape before the generator shuts down and the lights go out forever. LA Times has on-set photos of Twilight, featuring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. [imdb]

Maureen Ryan has news about the three Battlestar Galactica DVD movies that are being proposed.

Sienna Miller is in early talks to play Catherine in Wuthering Heights, opposite Michael Fassbender (300, Angel) who has signed on as Heathcliff. The adaptation is directed by John Maybury (The Jacket, The Edge of Love). (Daily Mail)

New featurette for Wanted, starring James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie, based on the graphic novel by Mark Miller. There's some new footage and interesting interview clips with Mark Miller, the director Timur Bekmambetov, and producer Marc Platt. (Empire) [imdb]
