Mike Carey, most well known for his writing on the DC comics Hellblazer and Lucifer, has written a film. Described as an "erotic ghost story", Frost Flowers is about an amazing and deadly love affair between David, a self-destructive young actor, and the ghost of a beautiful woman, Cora, who wanders through modern-day London trying to remember what it was like to be alive.
Holly Hunter, Gavin Rossdale, Rupert Evans, Margo Stiley and Gordon Macdonald will star. Shooting on the film begins this month in London. Full synopsis and a promotional poster at

Joseph Fiennes will play Antoni Vivaldi in a biopic of the baroque composer - apparently called simply Vivaldi. The fine cast also includes Lena Heady, Gerard Depardieu, Malcolm McDowell, Jacqueline Bisset and Zuleikha Robinson. "The film will centre on Vivaldi's life from his early experiences as a young priest working as music master at a school for abandoned illegitimate daughters in Venice. His charges' music soon develops an international reputation and Vivaldi is honoured with an audience with the Pope." (
