Thought about getting "Pride of Baghdad" when I was in Kinokuniya yesterday (picking up Peter Matthiessen's "Far Tortuga"), but really, and this is the first time I've admitted to not buying something because it was too good, after I flipped through the beautiful display copy, and read the sweet, cautiously hopeful first third before turning to the last four pages in a panic, I just couldn't. I was too close to crying. I needed to put the book down and walk away from it before I lost control of my emotions.

ETA: Of course, that was a recommendation of sorts. I would want you take a look at this graphic novel if you can. Presumbly you're less prone to weeping in public at every miserable thing you read in the newspaper, in which case you're perfect safe reading it. PopMatters has a nice review on the book if you want a more helpful opinion.
