If you didn't watch the Emmys, or managed somehow to miss ALL the good bits like I did, here are two of them: Hugh Laurie and Helen Mirren presenting best lead actor in a miniseries or movie, and Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart presenting best reality series.

Top five fanfics that have yet to be written, either by yourself or someone else, deepredbelle wanted to know:
1. River Tam in the Ender-verse.
2. Vampire: The Masquerade OTP: Jan, Lucita, and Fatima in 1930s Berlin.
3. BSG fic where current mankind is revealed to be human/cylon hybrids.
4. Trevor Goodchild (all seven previous versions) and Death of the Endless outside the walls of Bregna, talking - and waiting.
5. Tom Ripley/Sark.

A twenty-four-minute instrumental suite from the film The Beat That My Heart Skipped. I was listening to this on repeat at 1 am last night, trying to get through my Ezio Manzini readings for philosophy of design. It's both soothing and tense, slow in tempo. Its classical instrumentation and sensibility gives it a lovely meditative quality and an almost operatic emotional clarity. As well as the music for Jacques Audiard's last two films, French composer Desplat recently wrote the scores to several high profile English-language films, including Syriana, The Brothers Grimm, Firewall, and Casanova.
