I'm speechless.
California voters approved saving cows and pigs we don't have and possibly dooming our egg industry, without thinking about the impact on free-range farmers and small subsistence farmers. We rightly shot down parental notification on abortion. We gave veterans and children money.
And yet we couldn't end the day happy unless we took away fundamental civil rights from an entire group of people. In our state constitution.
I realize that the entire world is ecstatic that Obama is president.
I don't care. All I care is that in more states across the country now, gay people are inscribed second-class citizens.
It breaks my heart.
