So last day at the office yesterday.
In the course of trying to make sure that I had put everything on the network that anyone else might actually need I accidentally moved one folder into another. And couldn't move it back. Unfortunately this was a folder which holds lots of useful information for the team (of 500+ people). After talking to our Helpdesk and being told that it would take a while for them to get it sorted I e-mailed the entire department. A short while later I had to send a second e-mail when the Helpdesk called back to tell me that, because of the size of the folder, it could take ages to complete the fix and could I please tell everyone not to try and access it.
At least it cheered up a few people. Most of them seemed to think I shopuld have kept the whole thing to myself and left behind total chaos.
After handing back my laptop, mobile phone, corporate credit card, business cards, security pass etc. I was told that I couldn't just sneak away quietly. A few people gathered round and cards and presents were given. Most unexpected and rather nice. I did a last lap of the office to say goodbye to a few people and then headed home.
No regrets. It was a useful experience and I learnt a lot about both audit and myself.
