Okay, I've gotten a few 'yays' so we'll do it. Remember, you are not at all required to participate. It's just for fun.
The All Grown Up Challenge
For Writers:
Write a fic that takes place in the somewhat distant future. It can be Virgil and Richie living it up in college, the boys stressed out over mortgage payments in their thirties, or the two of them fighting over video game controllers in the old folks' home. Doesn't matter. Just have it set sometime after they graduate from high school.
Length: A minimum of 300 words. As for max? Sky's the limit. Go nuts!
Genre: Up to you. Angst, schmoop, fluff, comedy, tragedy - it's all good.
Time limit: I'm going to say two weeks, but I'm not going to enforce it. If you get an idea for this challenge two months from now, post away! The more fic the better!
For Artists:
Draw a bit of fanart that matches what you think Virgil or Richie would look like in the future. Did Virgil ever shave his head prior to what we saw in "Future Shock"? How many more holes did Richie get in his head just to spite his father? What kind of clothing styles do you think are going to be popular twenty, thirty, or fifty years from now? How many costume changes did they go through?
Any style, any size, whatever you like. Just remember to put it behind a cut tag. Consequently, if you don't have anyplace to host the image, let me know. I can hook you up.
Time limit: Same as for the writers. Two weeks, but if you don't finish right away, just post whenever.
