Hannah Montana Episode 2.1 "Me and Rico Down by the School Yard"
Yes, I'm blogging about Hannah Montana. Shut up. With a very few exceptions, all I ever watch is pretty much Animal Planet, Cartoon Network, Disney Channel, and Nick (and a dash of Discovery and PBS). Animal shows and kids shows, basically.
SOME of these shows that I watch I recommend to other people, because they are actually high quality and I think an adult could enjoy them (e.g. Avatar).
SOME of these shows however, I have no pretensions of them being good, and I'm a little embarassed to admit that I watch said shows (or at least, new episodes of them when they come out, even if I wouldn't watch reruns). But, hey, you know, WHATEVER.
On to the episode reactions.
Disney Channel has really been hyping up the new season of Hannah Montana. Now they're in HIGH SCHOOL!? Gasp!?
So, the first episode of the new season has been available at disneychannel.com.
It was a little disappointing. I still enjoyed it, but it wasn't the greatest.
- Jackson and the new friend: Cooper was better, and was more of a foil to Jackson than this new kid (Thor) is. Jackson is already "ridiculous" (in a good way. he and Oliver are played by the two best actors on the show) He doesn't need someone else with him that is so ridiculous that he churns butter in school to attract girls. Cooper is a "straight man" and compliments Jackson better.
- Rico in high school: meh
- Rico's locker with the monkey: awesome. very Ned's Declassified-ish, but I like the silliness of Ned's!
- The Miley/Rico kiss: Hey! no kissing my TV girlfriend!
- Oliver, just, you know, in general: awesome as always. Mitchel always makes me laugh! I demand more Oliverness at all times.
- The "plot twist" at the end: foreseeable from a million miles away.
WELL, it's not like I watch Hannah Montana because it's great television. Just mindless entertainment.
