I’ve been quiet online this week because I’m in Kansas vis­it­ing fam­ily.  We left in the late after­noon on Wednesday and drove to Hays, Kansas that night.  The next morn­ing, we drove to my parent’s home south of Kansas City.  Friday was spent in Topeka for a funeral ser­vice and then Carbondale for the after-​​mourning meal. I’ve been working for the past couple of weeks out of a coworking space here in Fort Collins called Cohere.  The space, and more importantly, the people are great, and depending on whether or not Sarah goes back to school in May, I’ll be joining up as a regular, either weekly, or semi-daily.

Starting today, I am going to attempt to live a week without eating any animal flesh.  I’m not going vegan, but I want to see if my tastes have broadened enough that I can get by on fruits, nuts, veggies, cheese, and bread.  We just stocked our fridge with a small jungle of fruits.   I imagine some of you have some questions about this.

Today is my 32nd birthday.

I can’t say that I’m happy about it.  But I’m coming to terms with it.
